Excellent product! I've used this since the 80's. My scalp tends to eventually break out with any moisturizing shampoo I use consistently. This shampoo dries up the acne/oil on my scalp and hair within hours of use. Tends to overdry if you use it more then 2 or 3 times a week, but it's a good shampoo to use in conjuction with others. I've turned my family and friends on to this product over the years.

I have long, thick straight hair that I have tried many products on. A few months ago I noticed it needed a little something. It felt 'heavy' and looked a bit dull. So I tried this product. Not only did it remove buildup my hair is shinier and healthier. Instead of using the recommended conditioner I use my own which seems to work better (might be the deep moisture). Overall I'd have to say this product helps other products work better. Within weeks of using this product I got rid of some of the others I was using. Once a week is plenty to get the desired effects. Now all I use is my regular shampoo and conditioner plus this once a week. I no longer need anything else to keep hair and scalp looking and feeling great.

This stuff is great! It does exactly what it claims. I don't mind the medicinal scent -- it's classic Neutrogena. Try it. You'll like it.

This is a wonderful shampoo. I could tell while I was washing with it that it was working. My hair felt very clean afterward and it gave my fine hair good body and shine. I'm not particularly fond of the scent (mediciny), but that doesn't matter because it's only to be used weekly. Really does a great job. I would purchase again.

I love this product. I have extremely thick, wavy, oily hair. Between the oil my scalp produces and the products I use to tame my hair, I need something strong to thoroughly clean the gunk out of my hair. This product can be over drying if you use it too often, but I use it once a week, then leave my hair alone for twenty-four hours ( no products, no styling, no nothing). After that, I do some intense conditioning and my hair is ready for another week! I've been doing this since high school. Also, the fragrance is a matter of diverse opinion, but I like the smell. For the twenty four hours I don't style my hair, I smell this shampoo and know my hair is clean!!

Awesome stuff. I use it every three or four shampoos and it seems to get rid of the build up that my regular shampoo leaves behind. Smells good too!

I have really thick hair curly hair and it used to be rather long as well. That said, I put a lot of product in my hair on a daily basis. After about a week, even with regular shampooing, I'd need a little extra something to clean everything out to keep my hair from getting too nasty. This always worked for me, it lathers up really nicely and the rinse is definitely squeaky clean. The smell is nice too, not too overpowering.

I really like this product, but like the other reviewers, it can make your hair pretty dry. As long as you don't use it more than once a week, I think you'll be fine. I only use it whenever I start to feel my hair feel "heavy" and want to give it that extra kick. It really does work though!

This is a great product for removing residue, and I found it to be perfect before a deep conditioning treatment. I am not fond of the strong patchouli fragrance, though.
