Thicker than the regular blue lizard sunblock, which is good b/c you can make sure you get every spot. This is a great sunblock and my baby has never gotten a burn being in the florida sun 9am to 5 pm.

My very fair & sensitive skinned boy has been wearing sunscreen since he was able to. We started with WaterBabies 50 SPF, but he developed a rash over time & I was told by my pediatrician to reduce the SPF I was using. Worried that my boy would burn, I began searching for a new sunscreen. Several other "baby safe" & "sensitive skin" brands made him break out. I came across Blue Lizard in a local store & seeing as it was Australian, I decided to try it. (Australia has an actual hole in the ozone & by law cannot go without sun protection during certain parts of the day). I am SO HAPPY with Blue Lizard!! After the first summer using it, my son went for his annual checkup & his doctor was pleased to see no "tan lines". My fair skinned husband uses it as well!! The thick, white cream that takes a minute to apply is a minimal incovenience to the burn & skin damage that is the alternative. EVERYONE should use Blue Lizard!!! :)

It goes on pretty white and stays that way about 10-15 minutes, then it soaks in and looks normal. It's mild and didn't bother my daughter's eczema. It's kind of expensive and I think there are probably some cheaper alternatives, but this works.

Cons: Greasy or Heavy

Product provides great protection for our children. It takes a while to apply and needs to be applied before clothing or swimsuits. We have found it very difficult to apply or reapply at the beach. However, our children have never been burnt using it.

After the chemicals in Coppertone's Water Babies irritated my red headed daughter's sensitive skin, I began researching chemical free sunscreens. I came across Blue Lizard and decided to try it. That was the best decision ever. She didn't have a single burn last summer (and the irritated skin went away!). I've already purchased four bottles for this year to make sure I'll have one handy wherever my kids (ages 1 and 3) will be this summer! I strongly recommend this product!!

My son has no pigment on parts of his body and this is the only sunscreen the dermalogist said to use. It works wonderful, no sunburns!!! Would recommend this to everyone!
