I'm old. My hair is old. It's super thin and very, very frizzy. I wear it long to add weight and add lots of product to try to settle it down. If I wore my hair in its natural state in public, someone would probably call the hair police. It's that bad.
FOR YEARS I had been blow drying my hair straight with a big round brush. It's worked in the past, but lately this way of styling has left my hair completely fried. It just can't take it anymore. I've used numerous expensive brands of heat protection products and none have worked… until I tried this one. After doing some research on Tresemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Protective Spray and reading all the great reviews, I had to try it, and I must say it's the only product that has worked, and worked extremely well. It's awesome!!! It has changed not only the way my hair looks and feels, it's saving me a tremendous amount of time and money trying to tame it.
I know this sounds like a commercial, but I assure you it is not. I've never even written a review before, but I sure do read 'em! I'm especially interested to know the styling techniques of others. If you're reading this and have hair like mine (you poor thing), I'll tell you what is working for me: I wash my hair in the evening and let it dry naturally. In the morning, I spray a copious amount of Tresemme on my hair, to the point where it's sufficiently damp, but not soaking wet. I blow it dry without the use of the big round brush, then use a curling iron to straighten. (I'm not a big fan of the flat irons.) I add a small amount of gel when I'm done to add extra shine.
It's taken me a very long time to figure out the best way to deal with hair like mine. If this even helps one person out there, I'm glad I took the time to write this. Perhaps this will help you save a lot of time and a lot of money. I love this product!!!

I actually ran out of the kind of straightening spray that I typically use because it is soooooooooooo difficult to find. So I decided to go with this one for the time being.
The original spray I used was alcohol based, so it really didn't feel like anything was there at all (probably because of evaporation) but I never used a straightener without it, so I don't know what my hair is like WITHOUT a protecting spray.
This one was quite nice. Not bad. But not phenomenal. But let me tell you, I'm a girl that washes her hair every OTHER day. So I can't be having any gunk in it on the first day. And this product, though it made my hair crazy soft, felt greasy and was a bit heavy. Probably because I was used to the first one I'd tried.
It doesn't really make hair greasy "looking", but I can definitely feel it, and the 2nd day look is kind of a bit too grungy for my tastes.
The smell is REALLY strong. If you can't handle strong fruity/sweet smells, I do not recommend you trying this, because if you're using a protecting spray, you'll be using it EVERYDAY about. It's really pungeant, and I eventually got used to it, but the smell (similar to a sweet fake apple scent) didn't really match my personality.
Though, the grease and the weight is BEARABLE. And it was kind of funny when my guy friends started petting my hair and saying it was crazy soft... because I have Asian hair, where crazy soft hair doesn't really come with the package.
I couldn't tell if it actually PROTECTED my hair after straightening it. You tell me. :]
The easiest way to find out if you actually LIKE the product is to try it. Hey! If you don't like it, let a friend have it. Not like you splurged for it.
Like another mentioned, the spray mechanism broke after 2 or 3 uses and I had to transfer the product to another bottle. However I like the product, it seems to keep the ends of my long, fine hair from getting straw-like with repeated use of styling tools.
i spray this on my damp hair before blow drying. it just helps blowdrying really good. i noticed that when i blow dry without this, my hair felt so frizzy and out of control. i have very thick straight hair and having thick hair is a challenge. plus, it smells good.
This is a great product and I've been using it for years without a problem. I use it every time I flat iron my hair and it does not burn or weigh hair down. Whenever I don't use it, my hair definitely does not feel as soft or protected as it does when I do use it. A little goes a long way, so it's great for touch ups or applications before styling!
I have silvery white/gray hair and have in the past gotten a discoloration from using a curling iron. I have to be very careful to protect my hair against the heat of curling/flat irons and dryers. Have not had any more problems for several years now, due to this product.
I'm in my 50s and have always had fine, thin, straight hair. The type of hair that is limp and thin looking especially the first day I wash it. Hair dresser said the best way for my hair to look better is when it has product in it, but it's so thin I don't want to damage it with the wrong or harsh products! This inexpensive wondrous spray not only protects my hair when I curl it, but it's the ONLY product after all of these years that will help my hair curl - and keep it that way!! People who see me daily at work will ask me if I got a perm (I can't get one due to such fine hair), so I recommend this spray over and over. They always come back and tell me how well it worked on their or their daughter's hair! I would pay big bucks for this spray but luckily don't have to thanks to TRESemme and Drugstore!! USE THIS - you will be so glad you did!! And Big Sexy Hair Spray, only the Play Harder one, keeps that curl in without looking crunchy! Wish Id found these YEARS AGO!
I like that it is not greasy. My hair is shiny. I do not care for the smell but I noticed most heat protection products have a similar smell. The spray pump took a little getting used to. I kept locking it when I sprayed.
Did not hold my style but I did not purchase it for that. Just for heat protection.
Just love this because my stylist had recommended a product which was 20.00 and I knew it straightened my hair and felt sticky like hairspray. It held and held but I couldn't stand the texture. I had to separate the hair I had just straightened and probably because my blond turning grey hair is so fine, but I have tons of it....This is light, sprays on like water, but helps control the frizz yet still straightens. I have oily hair and think this helps me go one more day without shampoo if I get up too late. I like it and the price is so much better than the salon brands.
