I have very thin, fine hair. It is difficult for me to find a product that offers lift and volume without looking frizzy. Previously I was using Pantene gel for fine hair but again, it made my hair look very fuzzy and damaged. Then it was Aussie Aussome Volume mousse but it was too heavy for my hair. This is the first gel/mousse I have found that offers the perfect balance of volume and smooth control. I highly recommend for anyone with fine limp hair. And it's pretty cheap :)

This is my favorite hair styling product. I don't see it advertised as alcohol free, but I think this is. Alcohol in hair products tends to both dry out my hair and cause me to break out. This product does NOT. It goes on beautifully, and holds the hair in place. I have fairly short hair, and I use this to add a bit of volume in my tousled (just barely spiky) look. I apply it after showering, style, and just leave it alone all day. If you don't touch it, it retains a little git of a gel/glossy look. If you brush it, that gel look disappears, but the hold remains. It doesn't feel sticky at all, nor does it make my hair feel "crunchy" like some products do. Contrary to some reviews, I don't really notice any smell ... just a very nice, subtle clean scent. This product was recently put to the test when I was dressed up for a wedding, and ended up walking through an extremely windy area, and my gelled-up hairstyle stayed put! I love it!

AFTER TOWEL DRYING MY FRESHLY WASHED THIN HAIR, I PUT A SMALL DOLLUP OF DEP IN MY HAND, RUB THE PRODUCT IN BOTH HANDS AND APPLY IT TO MY THIN HAIR. THEN I DRY HAIR, CURL HAIR WITH CURING IRON AND NOW I HAVE THICKER, SHINY HAIR. IT IS GREAT FOR EVERYDAY USE.

The gel is light with strong hold, looks natural.
It is not affected by humidity. Very good product in this respect.
However, the smell is strong, sweet, sticky, cloying, and artificial. It is counter-intuitive to smear something like that on my hair.
The smell almost disappears as the gel dries, but becomes prominent again if hair gets damp.
I will be able to use up this bottle for emergencies, but will not buy it again despite its useful qualities.

My favorite gel, the only draw back is that if you do not wash it out after a day you get flakes. But thats an easy fix just wash ur hair every night.

I have been using Dep for many years, I have tried other hair gels but nothing compares. Dep Sport 11 provides all-day hold and style. This product is gentle on the hair, works extremely well and leaves no sticky residue! Excellent product!!!
