And since I don't eat those things, getting them even in small doses causes intestinal problems. So that's why I read the ingredients label carefully to ensure there is no added lactose or other stomach irritants. This one is free and clear off all that. I will be buying this one again. Best Uses Comments about Nature Made Vitamin D3, 1000 IU, Tablets, 100 ea: Worried that the D3 1000IU by Nature Made may no longer have USP approval. Can't see symbol in photo. The other two D3 versions by Nature Made (soft gels and 400IU) both have USP symbol very prominently displayed in photo. My old bottle of Nature Made D3 tablets 1000IU did have the USP symbol on it, but I will not purchase pills that don't have this symbol--and you might think twice too! Best Uses Comments about Nature Made Vitamin D3, 1000 IU, Tablets, 100 ea: It is a basic D3 tablet and serves the purpose there. The page here doesn't list it but it includes animal derived gelatin (pork and cow specifically) making unsuitable for vegetarians and many Jews, Muslims, Hindus et cetera.
