This really works. I don't get cold sores alot. When I do get em, they pop up in clusters. I tried everything! Abreva is really expensive and didn't do anything for me. They usually lasted for about a week and a half. After reading all these reviews, I wanted to give this a try. I woke up with the "tingle" and put it on the same day. Next morning, it was there but did not form into the blisters. 3 days later it was GONE! The only thing I do not like is that if you apply too much then it leaves this thick film over the blister and u have to pick it off.

I am so glad drug store.com carries this product, my local drugstore no longer carries it since abreve came to the market. Abreva does not give preventitive benefits for cold sore outbreaks like zilactin. You can use zilactin anytime you feel like you might be getting a cold sore, it is an invisible sheild like a second skin and it adds a thin layer of protection to vulnerable skin areas.

I have tried many different ones. There are 4 dentists in my family, and this was the only one they recommended. It works like nothing else. Keep in mind that it is important to apply a cold sore medication as soon as you feel it coming on. That's when it works the best. If you already have a cold sore, it will work but not as fast.

It just didn't work. It made this protective spot over the cold sore, but it did not dry it or seem to help it to heal. Almost week later & I'm looking for a new product.

My dental hygenist recommended this to me. It works wonders if you use it as soon as you start to feel a cold sore coming on. If caught early enough, the cold sore won't even erupt! This is the only product I've found that will keep a cold sore from appearing. If the cold sore does erupt and break open, this stuff burns like you wouldn't believe, so the trick is to catch it early. It also tastes pretty bad, but I'll take those two "downs" for the "up" of avoiding a cold sore altogether!
