Clumps pretty easily - maybe I'm not that good at applying it? I prefer other brands.

I usually like Almay products, but this mascara is awful. Two words: it clumps. And the brush is terrible! There is a "short" side and a "long" side, but both resemble a pipe cleaner and are about as effective at applying the mascara.

This was the most horrible mascara I've ever used. It clumped more than it coated. It's been mentioned below that you just need to know how to apply mascara and not pump the wand in the tube. I'm sorry, this mascara glumped up my lashes on the First swipe the First day I used it. I even tried wiping off most of the mascara from the wand on the top of the tube and that barely helped. I tried giving this several additional chances to see if it was just me needing to get used to a different kind of brush, but I'm done. It's going stright in the trash where it belongs. I'm only giving this one star because I'm required to.

Clumps like crazy

Brand new tube flaked super-badly on me -- was so dry it came out in solid chunks and I don't mean clumps. Its like trying to spread epoxy over your lashes. Even with metal eyelash comb, almost impossible to spread mascara out to the tips. Given half the reviewers have said no clumps, no flakes, and the other half share my experience, I think Almay has major quality control issues with this product. Too bad -- used to be a very reliable company.

I have used all kinds and brands of mascaras in the past, and always ended up having some sort of allergic reaction. Sure my lashes were curvier, longer or fuller, but never all three and never all that natural looking. I tried Almay Triple Effects and I love everything about it. Fullness, length and curves are delivered in one coat that looks natural and flawless. No clumps or flakes, unless you don't know how to properly use mascara. Apply a second coat and you'll get perfect definition for evening. A useful tip never pump the brush in and out, it forces air inside the bottle and dries it out which will cause flaking, also in application to eliminate clumps single smooth strokes are best, when layering it's best to do it quickly while lashes are still wet or wait for each coat to dry.

This is the worst mascara I've ever purchased, and I've been wearing mascara for decades. I LOVE Almay products, so was especially disappointed in this product. It was sticky and goopy and held my eyelashes in clumps. Plus, I didn't like how I had to keep turning the wand to find the side with the longer bristles. The mascara flaked all over my face and I looked like a racoon after taking a nap. I'm really bummed.

This mascara flakes horribly, my eyelashes wind up all stuck together, and it weighs down my lashes.

WOW WOW WOW!!! This is going to be my new favorite! I just bought this yesterday, and I was really excited to try this mascara because I have really thin and short eyelashes. I was exclusively using L'Oreal Voluminous for like 4 years, but it takes certain techniques to put it on right because of the brush and the mascara itself and toward the end of a bottle, it tends to clump even more... but this Almay mascara doesn't require any technique, thanks to the very smart brush! The longer side works perfectly to separate each lash and gives it length, and the short side works perfectly for more volume!!! Also, this mascara dries up pretty quickly, so you can apply multiple coats without waiting for it to dry. I think this is the smartest mascara I've ever used, and it does what it claims to do!!! My short and thin lashes are now looking longer and fuller than ever!!!

I absolutely love this mascara. My favorite by far. Makes my tiny lashes nice and full, no flaking. I've tried many mascaras, and will never go back to anything else.
