I have used this product off and on since I was a teen-ager --yes, it has been around THAT long! Get real with the way you use it! For goodness sakes do not use heavily or every day! THIS STUFF IS BLEACH! I use it once a week, giving me a natural lightening over a period of time. I have never had a problem with odd color or damage. If you have anything done at a salon, be sure to be upfront with your operator about what you have been using!

I have read all the reviews on this website for this product and all I have to say I -- everybody's hair is different and for me this stuff works perfectly!! It's not going to work for everyone. I laugh because some people spend hundreds of dollars to get the hair color I have and all I do is spray it in and relax on the beach. People truly think it's my natural color and that the sun just brings out my natural highlights, until I tell them what I use. I must admit though that when I tried the indoor technique during the winter (bad idea!); it dried my hair out and made it frizzy. I will never try that again. But I have used this product for almost 10 years now, and I will keep using it. I have never colored my hair any other way.

This is what I use to lighten my hair, not my first pick, maybe second. But that's only because my other brand was discontinued, hopefully will bring it back ;(. It's nice though -- highlights, and definitely moisturizes. There's a lot of Caribbean-type smell, I guess to overcompensate for how bad it smells when it's left in, say, overnight. Sort of smells like my silk costumes - sort of an old silk smell. Washing afterwards is recommended.

This product IS NOT for anybody with darker hair types. These types of products are made for blondes/very light brown hair ONLY. My sister had a very bad experience with this stuff; her hair is on the darker side and turned it orange color -- it looks fake and ridiculous. People who want a lighter look should just use temporary hair color or get a highlighting kit, but one that is for their OWN hair color. This stuff is very misleading; with everyone thinking they can use it and come out with great results. Nope, not with this stuff, don't waste your money.

I can't believe they still make/sell/peddle this chemical-laden product. As a teenager, I had brunette hair and used this throughout the summer to achieve a lovely ORANGE hue to my whole head. Not only did my parents NOT let me color my hair, they also made me cut off most of my hair, leaving me with an orange mullet. Twenty years later, I have finally had the courage to use color in my hair and you can believe it won't be with this. You're better off using lemon or something natural if you want natural streaking - with this, you don't know WHAT kind of reaction you'll get with your hair.

I love Sun-In! I had light brown hair and I added it, and it made my hair dark blonde! And it never made my hair the least bit frizzy!

Last year I used this on my dirty blonde hair and I sprayed it in and went to the beach...it really worked! It gave me a great sun kissed look, especially when I am tan. I'm using it right now. I admit it does make your hair look dry, but you can repair that. I love it!

I have used sun in for years now and it's great! No fuzz, no muss highlights. My hair is a dark brown and after using the Sun-In, my hair has blonde highlights. One thing people have mentioned is that sometimes your hair feels dry, but what they forgot to mention is that it doesn't feel any worse than after a dip in the pool! And, just like when your hair is subjected to the pool, just shampoo and moisturize your hair to repair it. I only wish they made larger bottles of this stuff. I enjoy it at home with a blow-dryer or out in the sun!

This is the most awful product that has ever been sold. I have chestnut brown thick hair and now after using Sun-In I have a reddish bark color hair, that I might add is also a frizzy mess. I now have to use a lot of Frizz-Ease products and put my hair up into ponytails all the time. My hair is as good as ruined.

I am a 22 year-old dark blonde, and have been using this product since I was 16. I have had nothing but great results. It softens my hair and helps eliminate frizz (apparently the opposite result of some here), and gives it a natural-looking shine. I have heard, also, that it is horrible for your hair, especially if you are going to have it dyed with real dye afterward... However, I am not one to dye my hair and have had no problems with it, personally. I really like it and will continue to buy it. :o)
