Throw the strap away, it's useless. I had rotator cuff repair surgery and needed ice often. I have several ice packs, but when I had to travel I took this little gem. Just fill it about halfway with either ice OR hot water and it maintains temperature for a really long time.

Correction - Does have 1x4" piece of velcro on strap, but still no easy way to attach to bag.

Nice, lightweight, flexible & comfortable. Great for travel when I don't want to bring a heavy microwavable heating pad or plug-in one.

Strap is not so useful, just a tie, no velcro & nothing to attach it to the bag. I use a fleece jumper/sweatshirt to hold it in place & it also keeps the heat in longer.
