Not all that sheer! by Virgo in San Francisco on 10/3/08Pros: Effective Protection Cons: Leaves Streaks and Crumbs Bottom Line: not recommended I tried this in both the SPF 55 and SPF 70 formulas, and didn't find either one to be "sheer". Both require a ton of blending to get rid of the white streaks and little "crumbs", but they do blend eventually. It's not bad, but I think there are better, more sheer, and less expensive sunblocks available.
Broke Out by Skinfocus in New York, NY on 9/20/08Describe Yourself: Brand Buyer Bottom Line: not recommended I am a huge Neutrogena fan. I have use many of their products happily over the years. However, this product made me break out and I haven't broken out in 15 years! It didn't feel light - in fact it felt heavy and left a white layer on my face.
I am sure the product works because I do trust Neutrogena - however, I now am using the remainder of the bottle on my arms. It's a shame.
Sunscreen that works for me by Gentleman Farmer in Mariposa, CA on 9/19/08Pros: Effective Protection, Not Greasy, Rubs In Well, Sweatproof, UVA/UVB Protection, Waterproof Cons: Keep out of eyes Describe Yourself: Brand Buyer Best Uses: Daily Use Bottom Line: recommended I use this sunscreen whenever I go out to water our yard; there are several acres and it may take a few hours. I always feel protected and have never had a burn of any sort when I use it. I like the way it rubs in and does not feel greasy at all. Just be careful and don't touch anywhere near your eyes-it can sting for a while.
Excellent non-greasy sunscreen by Robin in South Florida on 9/17/08Pros: Effective Protection, Not Greasy, Rubs In Well, UVA/UVB Protection Describe Yourself: Brand Buyer Best Uses: Beach, Sports, Swimming Bottom Line: recommended I go kayaking weekly in South Florida and sunburn very easily. This non-greasy sunscreen is excellent! It protects my fair skin beautifully. I also tried it on a snorkeling expedition and despite staying in the water way too long without reapplying this product, all I got was a very light pink. For me this is amazing. My husband, who hates applying any greasy stuff, loves this too.
Shame on Neutrogena by Belann in Marietta, GA on 8/15/08Cons: Not Effective Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented Bottom Line: not recommended I wore this on my face for a year and got some sun damage that I never had before. Then I find out they are not all that! Look at [...]. There has been a big fuss about effective and safe sunscreens and this is not one of them!I purchased new sunscreen today.By the way, on some sites I have read of other customers who got the same problems I did after using the sunscreen.
Best sunblock for the money by Ivy Girl in Charlotte NC on 7/11/08Pros: Effective Protection, Not Greasy, Sweatproof Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented Best Uses: Beach, Daily Use, Sports Bottom Line: recommended Does not block pores. I can't stand greasy, smelly sunblock, but this has no fragrance and goes on just like moisturizer! It is a bit thick, so can't be applied quickly. I love it so much, I use it on my hands and arms as well.
no match for my super oily skin by anonymous in ny ny on 6/22/08Bottom Line: not recommended after an hour or so, my face starts looking greasy. not really good if you have super oily skin and since it's a bit difficult to apply on, it does leave some white residue-looking mark.
I've been using sunscreen ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 6/18/08I've been using sunscreen daily for over thirty years now, and I have tried everything. This product is the very best ever, and beats hands down all other sunscreens, regardless of price. I have used it for years now, about a tube a month. Use this now, and save yourself expensive skin treatments and skin cancer in the future. The 55 is great for everyday wear in the summer. Use the 70 for sun intensive days -- it is not as transparent as the 55. I really appreciate Neutrogena for coming up with this one.
This sunscreen is ... by Lola in Undisclosed on 6/15/08This sunscreen is absolute PERFECTION! Most sunblocks are too oily and greasy and cause my t-zone skin to break out easily, not the case here!
This stuff is LIGHT, smooth, and has a bonus pleasant scent. I can put it all over my acne prone areas and it not only leaves no residue, it leaves my skin up to 5x softer and touchable then before.
Like others with ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 6/14/08Like others with sensitive skin, I would not recommend this product. I've used other Neutrogena sunblocks before and liked them but this is HORRIBLE if you have sensitive skin. Trusting the Neutrogena brand, I packed the SPF 55 for my honeymoon to Costa Rica. I broke out in horrible red hives all over my face. It progressed into big red blotches, then my face became really leathery, and then flaked. On my body however, I had little bumps everywhere and looked like I had constant goosebumps. I ended up wearing a hat the whole time and barely took any pictures on my honeymoon. It took about 2 weeks to go away.
