My husband, a stroke victim, takes alot of meds that leaves his mouth very dry, especially at night. Water is helpful, but only temporary. Biotene Oral Balance (not the gel) works for hours for him. He usually will use it 2 times a night. Yes, it's expensive but under the circumstances I will buy it and we are far from rich. I would like to see Biotene make a top that can be used easier, in bed, at night. He does not like the gel due to the taste.

I do not produce enough saliva due to cancer surgery. This is a great product for me as it solves that dry mouth problem at night. If you are flying, make sure that you pace it in a zip lock type bag as i will leak a little.

If you need a product like this you no doubt have learned that there is no magic potion out there, but as I recover from the effects of head and neck radiation I discovered that this product will provide relief from dry mouth for a couple of hours at a time. It is extremely effective at night, but it does tend to add to the flem that collects in my throat.

The taste took me back the first time I used it, however I like that it makes my mouth moist very quickly. I tried Orajel and hated the taste. It felt like I was putting toothpaste and it would not melt. I wanted to spit it out.

I use both the liquid (which I purchased) and the gel (which is longer lasting. I like to use both. After undergoing 35 radiation treatments and 9 chemotherapy treatments for neck cancer, I must use frequently each day. The liquid is good for during the day and the gel is good to use before going to bed, because it lasts throughout the night.

I get extreme dry mouth from Rx meds I have to take - Biotene moisturizing liquid gives me my mouth back! I use Biotene throughout the day as needed. Easy to use portable squeeze bottle. I can talk w/o a drink constantly at hand to sip, prevents painful dry tongue and gums. Best product out there and longest lasting.
