When applied, the product stops bleeding promptly and dries to a white-cake which is easily wiped-off with a damp towel. Once it stops the bleeding, its effects last throughout the day even after you clean it off. I find that using this product makes my skin much smoother. It avoids ugly blood clots or bumps from where cuts healed. The portable container allows you to take it with you on your travels and it lasts for months. An excellent value! So I do not get blood on the applicator, I dab some of the liquid on my finger. I than place my finger on the cut, the liquid seals the cut.
