I have fine, straight hair, and this works very well to pouf it up and make it look less like overcooked vermicelli. Set it with a little hairspray and you're done. I had that dryer for 5 years, and swore by it...it was a one step process to dry/straighten/style/defrizz my hair! I have thick curly hair, and from the time it was shoulder length until it was halfway down my back - that dryer worked it's magic. until it stopped working. I thought this was the same thing-- I was disappointed. This has been the worst there is, not enough heat to make a curl never mind holding a curl. Tangles your hair in the bristles and not enough power. My hair is above shoulder length and use this hot air styler every day after washing my hair. First dry with a blow dryer 80% of the way and then use this hot air styler to finish off the style, bend layers, add volume and control frizz & flyaways. This is one of the best Hot air units out there with a small barrel. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? My old brush would dry my hair as well as add some body or curl if I used it a little longer. This brush doesn't dry well nor does it style well. Basically it does nothing. Can you please go back to the original, small, plastic teeth that you could remove and clean? If you do I will buy it again. I hope they don't stop making these! They were made originally for men's hair, but I have found that it is easier- for me- to COMB my hair dry. Leaves it smooth and soft.
