The FM-15RA is Tested and Certified by NSF International against NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for the reduction of Taste and Odor, Chlorine Taste and Odor and Particulate Class 1. Standard 53 - lead, cysts, turbidity, lindane and atrazine Reduction.

The water in our town is pretty bad(regularly high chlorine levels, over all not great tasting that no amount of filtering seems to take care of)so I mostly only use our tap water for cooking. I have been using these filters for about 2 years. I have had no issues, they are easy to install and seem to do the job. I can even drink the tap water when I need too!

Grip wings on underside of housing and turn cartridge counter clockwise.
Disposable cartridge will drop into your hand.
Insert new filter cartridge into housing and turn until it stops.
Flush cartridge for 10 minutes to remove carbon fines prior to using water.
