After years of wintertime agony with dry skin and itching, I started using this product. I've used it for about four years now after recommendation by my dermatologist. I rarely have the intense itching anymore...you know, the kind that makes you scratch and raises whelps! What a relief.

Be careful with this product. I tried it three ways: as a shampoo, as a body wash, and as a face wash. Just so you don't think I'm inexperienced with AHA products, I had been using Alpha Hydrox Oil-Free Formula for over 10 years twice daily very successfully before trying to switch to this Aqua Glycolic product. I was using no other products which could have conflicted or reacted with this Aqua Glycolic wash.

I allowed the product to remain in contact with my scalp and skin for only 60 seconds per wash, then rinsed very thoroughly. For the first 10 days my skin became progressively tighter feeling. After that, it started to become extremely dry with a coarse leathery feel. This happened despite heavily moisturizing twice daily! My hair became knotted and frazzled. After 10 days, the leathery skin began to breakout horribly with acne that I had kept banished with my previous Alpha Hydrox Oil-Free Formula for over 10 years! The acne is severe now due to this product, despite my face being perfectly clear and makeup free when beginning this product.

After 3 weeks of discontinuing this product, the dryness is just starting to heal. However, I'm only about half-way improved regarding making the acne it caused to go away again. I'm facing months of red-marks due to this product causing an acne breakout. It took two hair cuts and daily heavy conditioning to remove the damage it inflicted on my hair.

This product is extremely harsh! The problem may or may not be related to the heavy and unappealing perfume they add to the product. I can use Alpha Hydrox Oil-Free Formula two times daily, heavily, with no bad reactions - but this Aqua Glycolic stuff is not even remotely useful. I have returned to my Alpha Hydrox and will never be swayed to test anything else again.

I can't imagine why this product could possibly be popular!

10 years ago I went to my doctor with acne and she recommended this product. "I know it says it's a shampoo," she said, "but their facial cleanser and moisturizer doesn't do the trick."

Oddly, I even tried the other products in the line and sure enough had to agree with her-- the cleanser alone is too light, the cleanser and the moisturizer both used together dried me out. The body wash and shampoo is a little bit stronger than the cleanser, but not enough to wipe out your skin.

Recently I went to the #1 dermatologist in NYC (according to NYMag) and he was asking after my cleansers to make sure I was using something good for my problematic cystic acne. I told him Aqua Glycolic and he smiled. "Oh, good," he said. "You've got that down, at least. You're doing that right."

Bonus? I used it as a shampoo when I'm out of my regular, and it works GREAT. Even on my problem scalp.

I don't like bar soap as it leaves film on my skin and dries it out. This cleanser is gentle .

I love this as a body cleanser - it doesn't dry out my skin. My husband uses it as a shampoo and is happy it works on his oily scalp.

This product was recommended to me some years ago by my dermatologist to use to exfoliate my scalp when I was suffering with seborritic dermatitis. Use it about twice a week in addition to Nizoral or other medicated shampoo and it greatly elminates the flaking.

Additionally, it is a great body wash that gently exfoliates the dead skin cells, which are what produce a lot of one's body odor, and leave you clean and fresh smelling. I use it on my face too (but avoid eyes)
