At my age I found myself having difficulty getting accurate BP readings on my patients due to getting hard of hearing; I'm a Hospice RN doing home care. I often simply could not hear a weak BP. But with the automatic monitor, I am assured of getting accurate BP and pulse results with minimal repeats. The only complaint I have is that initially the arm band spring is pretty tight, but patients haven't complained.

Bottom Line: not recommended

Perhaps I'm not using this properly since it is difficult to adjust it on your left arm using your right hand. If it's not exactly in the right place, it shows an error code and deflates. Sometimes I had to try three times to get it to work but like I said, I'm not sure if I have it on properly. When it does work, it really squeezes the arm. It has left some marks and bruises several times. I think I'll have my doctor or my nurse friend show me how to work it.
