I'm in my late 40s and have gotten braces again for the second time of my life - but I don't remember the irritation they cause being so annoying. After catching my cheeks, lips and tongue so often, I burn through what little wax the Orthodontist gives me pretty fast. Wax is a necessity if you want to stay sane.

G-U-M Ortho Wax fits the bill, but occasionally, I get a pack that's a little "off" in terms of consistency; sometimes it's "crumbly," but it'll still work.

I am very unhappy with this product. why do they sell something that is old and you can't use it. I was unable to soften it with my fingers to be able to put it on my braces, beacause it was too hard and it kept falling off of my braces.

My husband got braces and he CANNOT live without this ortho-wax product. The braces would really hurt the inside of his mouth if it wasn't for this product. I ordered 10 of them to keep at office, in car, at home, and always in his pockets. I wish someone would create a more long-term use product like a gel cover for the brackets that could last at least all day.

I recently had some orthodontic work done and without this stuff I would be seriously pressed to eat for the next 9 months. Occassionally, it crumbles, but I'm willing to put up with that for the amount of pain it saves me!

i used to be happy with this product in the past the consistency was not too soft and it would stay on now it falls off trouble staying on when applied--the way it was in the past was good not too happy with it anymore that is the brand i always buy i buy it weekly about 6 packages a week i will recommend to a friend when it is made like in the past

I'm an adult with braces and this product is great! I was a bit unsure about the mintiness,but I like it. And despite some reviews, it doesn't taste bad & isn't strong. The wax isn't too hard or too soft & molds well around the brackets & over wires. If you get was that's too hard or crumbly, I would return it b/c it's old.

Overall Butler's dental wax is a good product. What happened to the unflavored one? Does anyone in the Augusta/Martinez/Evans area sell it? One of our stores had some in their sample case and I bought every one they had. I just can't tolerate this mint taste so I've quit using is altogether.
