I've been using these little brushes since I had the gum operation in 1972 (periodental disease). Getting in between the teeth is essential, since that's where bacteria are hiding--right at the gum line. Dental floss doesn't do it. The only trouble is: they are difficult to grasp. they can fit a holder, but that takes time. To clean, get the tablets sold for cleaning false teeth. Drop one into a cup of water with the brushes and let them soak overnight--sometimes all week..

Water under the bridge alone wont do.

I use these between teeth that are spaced normally and not too close together and usually after brushing and flossing. It is surprising how much more food particles they will remove even after brushing thoroughly and flossing.

Have used for about 5 years. My dentist recommended them. Cleans between the teeth after each meal, still floss each night. Doesn't last very long, but does a great job. Kind of pricey for the uses you get with each one. Sometimes hard to find in stores.

I had to trim the bristles with scissors, even though my teeth are not that close together. After trimming the bristles, it works great. The wire is stout, and it will probably last for quite a while, even though it sometimes bends.
