If you can't afford shave cream, then this shave soap is the next best thing for wet shaving. Unlike some shave soaps, this glycerin based soap does not burn on the third or fourth pass.

I routinely juggle several shaving soaps in my rotation and to be honest, most are a bit spendier than VDH Glycerin. However, NONE deliver the quality and consistency of VDH Glycerin. In this day and age, we're all looking for a reasonably priced product with exceptional quality. As rare as this situation is, VDH Glycerin delivers. It lathers with ease and produces a very slick, luxurious covering of the shaving surface. No matter what "boutique" shaving soap I have on hand, I seem to reach for VDH Glycerin more days than not. The VDH Deluxe is also a very good product but of the two I prefer the Glycerin. This soap would be a bargain at twice the price. Whatever VDH is doing, I certainly hope they keep doing it. My shave cave will never be without VDH glycerin.

I have tried a number of brands over the years, and this is the very best I have found. I like the mild scent, the feel on my face and the way my razor glides through my beard with virtually no drag. Since trying this I have not felt the need to look further. This is my ideal shaving soap

I use this for my shaving and when on the road or at the Y for a full body bath bar. It works great for both. The oatmeal keeps me from getting scratchy skin and the soap lathers up really well. Awesome bar.

I switched over to using this product from canned shaving foams. This is an excellent product. Took me 5 seconds to produce a thick lather. All I did was put the soap in a cup, wet my shaving brush, then swirl it on the soap for 2 seconds. When you dip the brush on your face, you'll get a thick lather. The scent is very light too, doesn't smell artificial at all, which I loved. I expect my soap to last years.

Well, it's the best mug shaving soap I ever used, bar absolutely none, and I've been shaving since I was 13, I'm now 58....It's the best! Thanks for such a great shaving product.

Burt's Bees Bay Rum soap was my favorite until they discontinued making it. Then I found this soap. Excellent lather, nice smell... great! Miss the Bay Rum soap but would miss this if I couldn't buy it.

Excellent shaving soap. Lathers very well and has a mild pleasant odor. The vitamin E and oat extract in the shaving soap provide a smooth and protected shave. Your face is left feeling great. The packaging and the cost is also great. Can't find anything to say bad about this shaving soap. Makes shaving a true pleasure.

Shaved with this soap today for the first time - excellent lather, almost zero friction with a Gillette Sensor Excel. Tried the more expensive soaps, but this one is better, in my opinion. 5 stars out of 5.
