They are way more comfortable, economical and green than any other pad. I hate when the paper sticks to you, or the wetness causes irritation and these work great. They are soft and lovely. The only draw back is that carrying them around when you're out and about and having to change them and then carry a dirty one home with you can be gross. I use these during my heavy days (which I'm mostly at home and in pain anyways) and when I'm home and applicator free tampons when I'm out. Highly recommend these! The set I got came with one pad and one liner; the pad has snaps that anchor it to your underwear, the liner does not - you just put it in place and hope for the best (or wear really tight underwear). I haven't had any leaks yet, so I guess they're pretty absorbent. However, the pads both get bunched up and slide around so much that I definitely wouldn't trust them enough to wear them out of the house. You don't want to wear one for longer than you would a disposable pad if you're worried about smell, so I'd say you'll probably need at least 4 Lunapads if you're going to do away with disposable altogether. Finally, despite what other reviewers have said, washing them IS gross. I would never put them in with a load of clothes, so I'll soak a used one in the sink before scrubbing it - does that sound like your idea of a good time? I'm very much in favor of being green, and since I've invested in these I will keep using them (supplemented with disposable pads/tampons/soft cups when I go out) but I don't think I could recommend them to anyone. Comments about Lunapads Washable Cotton Menstrual Pads, Maxi Pad + Maxi Liner, 1 ea: I bought my Lunapads from drugstore.com several years ago, and have been using them every month since then. They're so much more comfortable than pads made out of paper and plastic products, which feel gross against my skin after they've gotten wet. I tend to hand wash my Lunapads, but they also hold up just fine in washing machines and dryers (they come out of a dryer nice and soft, and shrinking hasn't been an issue for me). I wish they all came in dark colors; my black pad is the best, the purple and red pads I received are fine, but I'm not so crazy about the pink one. The liner of the pink pad was cut more narrowly than the others', so it bunches rather annoyingly. I recommend buying several pads so you're well stocked during your period, as you'll need to swap out used ones so they can be washed; I just ordered a new one in organic cotton. I always wear the pads in tandem with a menstrual cup or tampons during my heavier flow days. I can only wear the pads by themselves during the last two days of my period because I can't trust them to be the only barrier between me and my clothes until my flow is much lighter. That's the downside of there not being any plastic in them, but it's a downside I'm willing to deal with considering the many benefits they provide. However, even after following the package instructions, washing could not remove the odor after the first wear. Comments about Lunapads Washable Cotton Menstrual Pads, Maxi Pad + Maxi Liner, 1 ea: Every little girl should start out on these. They take 90% of the stress out of having a period. As mentioned in their material, they aren't the best choice for your heaviest days, but they're perfect for light and moderate days. I use them as a backup to a divacup on my heaviest days. Comments about Lunapads Washable Cotton Menstrual Pads, Maxi Pad + Maxi Liner, 1 ea: I adore my Lunapads! I used to rely on tampons but I've actually found Lunapads to be more comfortable and reliable. They are super soft and very easy to clean, and last for years! I use both the maxi pads and the pantyliners for daily use. I love that Lunapads are environmentally friendly, money saving and best of all, more comfortable than anything else I've used. Comments about Lunapads Washable Cotton Menstrual Pads, Maxi Pad + Maxi Liner, 1 ea: I love my new Lunapads! I've been changing from 1 brand of disposables to another in a desperate attempt to stop getting rashes. I tried these things, and my rashes are gone!! I would certainly recommend these if you suffer from allergies! Yes, they are a little more work than disposables, but they're worth it! And very comfy too! Comments about Lunapads Washable Cotton Menstrual Pads, Maxi Pad + Maxi Liner, 1 ea: Disposable pads do not work well for me. The fluid rolls to the back of the pad and it gets pretty messy, unless I stuff my underwear with toilet paper. With cloth pads the fluid absorbs quickly and doesn't leave a strong odor. These just take a couple washings to strip the natural oils off it and make it even more absorbent. (3 of 3 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful?
