use in dental trays

Must use twice daily as an ex-radiation patient. Used it for over one year. Seems to work.

I purchased this to focus on receding gums, moderate to severe tooth sensitivity along the gumline, and at least a few cavities I'm sure. I have no dental insurance and have been short on money so have not seen a dentist for a cleaning or exam in about 5 years. I did some researching and this seemed to be the best non-prescription fluoride treatment available so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I have been rather disappointed in the product. First off, it tastes bad - nothing like mint and I don't even know how to describe it except it has a bad chemical taste. It also seems to dry out my mouth and gums when I use it. I want to add that I brush my teeth 2 - 3 times a day and never miss even one night flossing before I go to bed. I use a fluoridated toothpaste, a fluoride mouthwash, and also use this as a supplement every night when going to bed and sometimes once during the day as well. I haven't noticed any difference in tooth sensitivity when I have been using this product every day for weeks now. It doesn't seem any more effective than normal fluoride toothpaste. I will probably keep using it since it is supposed to be the best non-prescription treatment, but it really isn't anything that special. All I know is the stannous fluoride ingredient in this is the same one that is in a certain major brand's recent toothpaste line, but without the super harsh chemicals that make your tongue, mouth, and lips peel - which is super gross and embarrassing. Stannous fluoride is said to also cause yellowing of the teeth. I've noticed maybe a slight yellowing, but nothing major. When I had dental insurance I was prescribed 1.1% neutral sodium fluoride topical gel, which seemed to work better than this.

I had cancer that involved radiation of the neck area and the salivary gland functions were totally messed up by it--the "drainage" that the salivary glands are supposed to do--rinsing your mouth--simply doesn't happen, so I am more prone to cavities and other related dental problems. The dentist took a mold of my teeth and I use a flexible "tray" with this product. I have used it for a year and it has helped significantly. I still had a few cavities filled recently, but I also have problems with stained teeth etc. so I have to use this regularly and brush 2-3 times a day. So for people with similar health problems, this product works well. Pharmacists MAY have it behind the counter, but it is not a high demand item so they may not have it in stock. This is a good quantity at a fair price.

Good product been using it for years. My dentist recommended I use it because I have alot of decay.

My dentist ordered me to use this product and we will see if it keeps my cavities down. I started using it daily and now I use it every other day. The bad thing about it is it alters my taste buds. But, if it does the job I won't complain.
