This "Max Hold" hairspray either comes in an aerosol can or a spray bottle. The can doesn't clog as much as the spray so it's easier to use. Right after spraying it on your styled hair, your hairdo feels a little bit stiff, but it never looks plastered down. It can easily be brushed out later.

Just bought this. Spent 30 mins curling my hair and then sprayed with this hairspray. Hairspray was very wet and completely flattened my curl.....had no curl left. It is very sticky....got on everything in my bathroom.... more so than any other spray I've used. I'm so tired of wasting money on hairsprays that don't do what they are advertised to do!! Now I'm stuck with yet another can on hairspray that will never get used!!

I used to be a "helmet head" thanks to Auqua Net & Final Net Hairsprays & my fine, limp, straight hair. Herbal Essences "Set Me Up Hairspray 3/Max" has finally set me free!

You can lift, piece & even "sculpt" your hair with this product & it leaves your hair looking & feeling soft and airy. I love that I can reposition sprayed hair wherever I want it to stay & it still looks soft.

The best part is that this product holds for hours. Other "touchably soft" hairsprays allow my hairstyle to "collapse" & fall limp in my face within a half hour.

With this product, I can even style & spray my hair, then brush through it after it's dry & the spray will continue to give my hair the body & lift it doesn't naturally have.

Two things to watch out for:

Spraying too close to your hair: the force of the spray will reposition it.

Combing or brushing through hair before the spray has dried (several seconds): This causes the hair to look wet & stringy. The lock can be easily separated by brushing it again when it's dry, or by grasping it at the base with your fingernails & sliding them out to the ends of the strand. Then just pat the strands back in place or re-curl and lightly spray.

This is a very "forgiving" hairspray with extra hold AND a soft, natural look & feel.

I always purchase Herbal Essence until now, Very disappointed in this product. The smell was horrible, i don't know if it was just a bad batch or what because this is usually my favorite scent. This hair spray wouldn't even hold like hairspray and it was the most powerful level offered.

I bought this product last week and used it once. I will never use it again! It made my hair so sticky and stiff that it was actually PAINFUL to brush it out. Don't, don't use this stuff on your hair!!!

This used to be my absolute favorite hairspray. I would get compliments on my hair all the time. I have super straight long hair and curl it everyday. This is the only brand that seems to keep the curls looking natural, without ever getting crunchy and hard. UNFORTUNATELY, the last 2 bottles I pruchased from different stores (Target & Walgreens) had to be returned. The new formula smells quite similar to bug spray, and I can't stand to use it. It wouldn't be so terrible, if it wasn't so perfect before. I don't know why they changed it (intentionally or a chemical mistake at the plant), but everytime I go shopping, I hope that I can find the old scent and formula, but low and behold, it's gone. I've bought 4 other hairspray bottles in the past month from different brands in hopes of finding a replacement. Needless to say, it's not going well.

i love love love this hairspray! it smells great, and i was impressed at how well it holds! with other hairspray, you have to use A TON to get it to hold as well, but this hairspray holds really tight for a long time, too! the scent is strong if you use a lot but that's no problem because it smells great! BUT, i wouldn't recomend this product if you want your hair to be soft and smooth after you style, because it makes it hard, as most hairsprays do.
