After reading the mixed reviews, I decided to take a chance and hope that I'd get a non-faulty unit. My mistake and now I have to deal with a return. What's worst though is that had I bought another option originally, I'd not have been without heat for my sore leg until I could get a replacement.
For the three nights this unit worked, it seemed a nice set up to wrap around my leg. I only used it for one hour or less each time. When I went to use it again, the green "on" light in the highest heat position stayed on and could not be changed, yet no heat came out. I unplugged and tried again a couple times with no luck.
I rarely to never write reviews, but this thing functioned so poorly, that I hope to save others from having a similar experience.

I bought two of these because I had flex spending money I was trying to use up and was looking for a good heating pad. I liked the concept of the pad but out of all the times I tried to use it only actually heated up 3 times. Last night I thought I use it and it wouldn't work so I finally opened the 2nd one I bought and it wouldn't work right out of the box. I tried it on several outlets to make sure that wasn't the problem but they both would not work. Since I bought these months ago I can't return them. Please learn my lesson and do not waste your time or money.

In theory, this product was great. I really liked the automatic shut-off feature, since I use this often when I go to bed but don't want to risk waking up with a "slow-cook" burn because I slept on it for hours - something I have done with another heating pad. This one shuts off after an hour, which is nice, but the control unit continues to heat up to an alarming temperature until the whole thing is unplugged. And then after only 10 months, it just stopped working altogether. There is a 5-year warranty, but unfortunately, I recycled the box already. I've seen mixed reviews for Kaz brand heating pads in different sizes, so I get the impression this is a fairly common problem with this brand's heating pads. I will definitely buy my next one from a different manufacturer.

The belt is a little too big for my hip. Otherwise, it keeps my waste and hip warm and comfortable. I hope that this will prevent my occasional back pain.

Unlike most heating pads, this wrap/pad keeps it's shape and doesn't scrunch up. I prop mine in front of a pillow and behind my back while sitting up on my sofa. It has just the right amount of heat on high. I use it every night all year round as I have scoliosis and a degenerative disk in my spine. Since the safety factor causes it to turn off automatically, I need to turn it on frequently, but that is a small inconvenience and totally worth it.

I bought this to help with my lower back and hip pain with this pregnancy and I LOVE it. The velco strap is awesome and works really well. It is SO nice to go from a regular heating pad to this if you are using it mostly for pain in this area. You can also unplug from the cord and walk around without having to take it off and resituate it. I can even wear pants and just pull the cord out the top.
my only complaints is that it doesn't get quite as hot as I would like (better than burning you I guess) and the easy push buttons can easily be pushed in bed when you roll over or whatnot.
