Used this several times 10 years ago going Greece Island hopping on rough catamarans for 2-3 hours each time. Also at the Coral Reef at Cairns just this past week, each time about 1.5 hours. Judging from the vast numbers of others vomiting and even some cursing at the boat staff, I was very pleased to have this stuff. It completely relieved my motion sickness. By way of comparison, when I crossed the English Channel 13 years ago, I did not have Dramamine, and without Dramamine I sweated about 30 minutes into the ride, when I arrived Cliffs of Dover my friends said I looked like I swam because I sweated so much (my body was fighting the motion sickness). From that time forward I have used Dramamine, and it works like a charm. I would not rely on the ginger that they give you free at the boat docks.

There is a trade off. It works, but you end up sleepy and drowsy. After waking, you feel like you didn't have any sort of rest. A bit like having a hangover.

I've taken Dramamine for decades because I get motion sick extremely easily. The "non-drowsy" formula is actually just a lower dosage. It doesn't work for me because I need the full dosage. Unfortunately, I need to take it every 2 hours if I'm flying or doing anything else with a lot of motion (roller coaster rides, sailing, etc.) I've tried the ear patch, Meclizine, ginger and anything else I ever hear of, but Dramamine seems to work the best but has the most side effects (dead tired, and a bit dizzy, can't drive, etc.). It absolutely puts me to sleep within 30 minutes unless I am very active. The recovery from the sleepiness lasts into the next day if I've had to take more than one dose. I'd avoid Dramamine because of the side effects if you can get away with something less potent.

My daughter gets very car sick so I use Dramamine on every car ride over 3 hours time. I used to have to buy this at a local convenience store but thanks to drugstore.com they have both chewable and the regular form available to me at lower cost!

Doesn't really make you drowsy? I took this before going to an amusement park and I was extremely sleepy for several hours. Ruined my day I was so tired.

Thanks to this product, I was spared the queasy, crossed-eyed effects of seasickness when on a ferry trip off Kodiak Island in February. In Janury I had taken the non-drowsy Dramamine for a rough ride on the ocean and felt sick, so I recommend only the original Dramamine.

This stuff makes me drowsy and really doesn't work... My wife tried it and really felt spacy.

THIS IS THE BEST HANG-OVER MEDICINE.

I used this on a very long car ride and was impressed by how well it worked. Really helps with that nauseous, dizzy feeling. It made me pretty sleepy, though, so if you want to avoid that, I recommend the "less drowsy" version as opposed to the original.
