Wow, I am simply amazed at the wonderful results I've gotten in only a few uses. About 10 years ago, I started developing a reddish-brown patch on my shoulder due to a medical condition. Gradually, the patch got bigger and more noticeable, and I developed more patches all over my upper body, and it was starting to creep onto my neck. Because of this, I haven't worn a tank top or bathing suit in years. It was very embarassing to say the least. I finally found this product, almost accidentally, and picked this particular brand because it had the highest rating. I've applied it once or twice a day for about a week, and the original large patch of darkened skin has almost disappeared. 10 years of being ashamed of it and it is gone in a week. The other areas are improving also. I am fair skinned to begin with so I don't know if that makes a difference, but it does tell you on the package that it may not work on darker skin. Some complained of a horrible smell, but maybe you're mistaken, the odor isn't horrible. It's slightly medicinal, but some people just like to complain about everything.

I purchased this product to remove a brown spot that was on my cheek and it worked INCREDIBLY well and FAST! Since the tube has a narrow tip it's VERY good for precise applications unlike most skin lightening creams. I ONLY wanted to lighten the SPOT to blend with the rest of my skin tone. I also exfoliated often and used this spot treatment A LOT! When I was outside I made sure I wore my sunscreen and the spot was gone in a few weeks.

I have never used a product that smells so bad. I wanted to get rid of a few sun spots on my face, but the smell is so bad I can't use it on a regular basis.

I have a small brown spot on my face so I thought I'd try this product since it is supposed to target specific areas. I think the spot is slightly lighter but not quite sure yet. I will continue using it and hope for the best. If not successful, I will go to my local, friendly dermatologist for professional treatment!!

I was not impressed with this product...at all! [...] I guess the props goes to Drugstore.com, I love them! Anyway, I opened the package and read the directions and decided that I would use it once nightly before bed and if I saw great results, I would continue usage and possibly increase to twice a day. So, I open the cap and squeeze some on to my finger and this foul odor hit me and I was like " OH NO! ". I smelled so bad, but I figured that it was medication like stuff, so it probably would not smell like roses. As I applied the product, it felt ok...then there was a slight burning...then more burning!! So I immediatly washed it off and read that you could feel irritation, and to use in smaller amounts every other day. That did decrease the irritation and eventually did go away. I continued use this product for two months and saw little to no change. If you are a review reader like myself take my advice and see your dermatologist and have them prescribe a hydroquinone just for you. So, I don't think that hydroquinone is bad, just this one. The one I use now is from my doctor and I have no problems at all, and I am seeeing great results :)

Use once or twice a day. Really lightens skin. First product I've found that works. You have to be careful to apply it only where you want the skin lightened.

I have very dark spots on my face from years of sun damage from using tanning beds. I am always on a budget so buying the pricey brands or chemical peels were just not an option. This product has helped me so much just three weeks of use has dramatically reduced the color of my brown spots and has evened out my skin color so much. I will have to continue to use the product for a while to get the results I want but I am so pleased, because I had all but given up hope that anything would work. The price is completely affordable, and not one side affect.

I've been using this once/day in the morning, under moisturizer. It has only been one week and there is a 50% reduction in the dark sun spot on my nose. I previously tried acid peels, retin-a, and glycolic alone with very little difference. There is slight redness/irritation right after I apply it but I have very sensitive skin. This really works!

Use Alpha Hydrox® twice daily on clean skin.

Adults: apply a thin layer on the affected area twice daily, or as directed by a doctor. If no improvement is seen after 3 months of treatment, use of this product should be discontinued. Lightening effect of this product may not be noticeable when used on very dark skin.

Children under 12 years of age: do not use this product unless directed by a doctor.

Sun exposure should be limited by using a sunscreen agent, a sun blocking agent or protective clothing to cover bleached skin when using and after using this product in order to prevent darkening from reoccurring.
