My skin is extremely sensitive, reactive, and dehydrated. I have dry, red patches that can be extremely itchy. About 2 months ago I saw an add for this product and was looking to treat my eczema rather than wrinkles or sagging skin. I decided to buy this item along with the lotion and am lotion. I noticed a huge improvement that day!! My skin felt silky soft, redness was beginning to disappear,my skin was hydrated and the itchiness diminished considerably. To date my red dry patches are almost gone and skin continues to be hydrated. This product contains ceramides and hydraulic acid, which both help with retaining and pulling moisture from the environment. It also has a timed-release aspect which allows the product to moisturize all day instead of one burst like most moisturizers. I use this product also as an skin conditioner after cleansing before applying the lotion. The combination of these products makes for amazing results. I cannot say enough about this product as well as the Cerave lotions. I dont use the cream due to it being too greasy and causing breakouts. Tip; When just out of the shower while your face is still moist apply either cleanser if using as conditioner, or the lotion. Allow about 5 minutes for the ingrediants to soak into the skin. You can also use either the hydrating cleanser or the lotion as an eye moisturizer!! I also take 200mg feverfew daily which helps with the itchiness and diminishing redness. Cerave has greatly changed my life by improving my skin and allowing me to have more confidence in myself as well as my skin!! Thank you Cerave for your amazing products-I'm a lifer!! Very similar to Cetaphil cleanser in texture and lather action. If just used for face, it will be great no matter your water condition. But if you use it over your whole body like me....it may not be your best choice.

I use this daily cleanser in conjunction with the AM and PM moisturizers. In two months, my combination skin (super oily but also flaky, worse in winter) has almost completely leveled off. I use this at night, before I put on the PM product. It's a little messy to use (can every woman clean her face by splashing water and looking like a model, or have cleanser ads lied to me?), but it's gentle on my sensitive skin and leaves me feeling clean.

This is a great cleanser to use - especially during New England winters. My skin is clean, bright and smooth and the dryness I get during the colder months is getting better each with each use. I usually switch up my products based on the seasons, but I have a feeling this will be the only cleanser I use all year long.

I purchased this on a recommendation from a Youtuber. She recommended it as a very gentle morning wash when makeup removal is not required. It has become my Holy Grail morning wash. I used to use the Cetaphil gentle formula, but I kept breaking out after using that. I have tested this face wash with makeup removal and it is ineffective so I use (and highly recommend) the Cerave foaming face wash for that.

My dermatologist recommended I try cerave and I have absolutely fell in love. This particular face wash is the best. Its hydrating, removes my makeup, deep cleans, is gentle enough to use with my topical medications and doesn't have an overbearing smell. I have no other reason to try anything else. I have finally found the perfect face wash!

Only product I can use on my sensitive dry skin and skin conditions and allergies. Save money by buying largest size. Wish it came in carry along individual packets since I can't use sanitizing or any other soap in public places.

I used to think that my skin is supposed to feel dry and tight after cleansing. Thanks to Cerave, now I know it's not!! This cleanser is ideal for my mildly dry, sensitive, and rosacea-prone skin. The "barrier" left behind makes my skin feel so soft. Some people seem to interpret this as a defect, but those people probably have naturally oily skin. While I do love this cleanser, it's not a miracle product. You still need to exfoliate and moisturize. And you'll need a makeup remover if you use heavy makeup (I use Burts Bees toner to finish the job on those rare occasions). In summary, this is a lovely cleanser, and it has become a part of my daily routine.
