I have used the powder in my dishwasher a couple of times. It has cleaned the dishes. The important thing for me with my asthma is NO smell. It does not bother my breathing at all.

I've had really great results with this as well as the scented version that has grapefruit extract in it. As with my oxygen bleach, I got a cheap .99 cent store tablespoon and just keep it in the container. I live in Los Angeles and have the worst water you can imagine, so I do use a rinse aid (the Earth Friendly Products brand) and this combo really works for me. I can put my electric grill in there that's covered in baked-on grease and grime and it comes out perfectly clean. If you have decent water, you might not need a rinse aid but I found that the hard water spots appear if I don't have it (which happens with every detergent I've used). I like that it's earth-friendly. I haven't experienced any residue or after-taste and can't see why I would since there are no dyes or perfumes in it. You only need two tablespoons and one package has enough for 64 LOADS!

This leaves a residue on everything- even when I run the dishwasher on its max cycle. And- maybe I'm paranoid- but I swear there is also an after-taste. I have no idea why I bought two w/out trying first (must've been a deal!), but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. If it matters, we have hard well water with a softener.

I have used several different natural dishwasher products and once I found this one about 2 years ago, I've never gone back to conventional brands. I use one tablespoon in the main wash and 1/2 Tbsp in the prewash with a full load and it cleans perfectly!

i've tried all the natural automatic dish soaps, and unfortunately they only preform well with certain types of water. if your city or area has a type of water that varies from the type the product was designed with, the result is less then stellar. the biggest problem is a white powder residue that remains on all your dishes, and requires some heavy scrubbing with bar tender's friend to remove it. just be aware when buying this and other natural automatic dish soaps.

I love all the Bi-O-Kleen products, so decided to try this dishwasher soap. It's the first soap I've used that doesn't disolve completely in my dishwasher. If there's a mug or bowl that's laying flat in the machine, when the cycle is over there will be a film of dried soap on the flat part of the item.

Maybe works better in soft water areas..

I have hard water, and I found that this dish powder tend to leave white residue on my dishes. I have to rinse the "cleaned" dishes before I put any food on or in them. I added rinse aid to correct this problem, but the results are still the same. Probably this dish powder is not very effective in hard water areas.

This works great--just as well as a regular, more commercial product. I was quite surprised. I am still getting a film on my glasses, but I was getting that with my regular detergent. I think I need a better rinse agent and may try an eco one since this eco detergent is so much better at cleaning than the grocery store brand.

I used the first 1/4 of the container in my brand-new dishwasher with no problems. Then the performance went significantly downhill. Quickly, my dishes and glasses became full of spots and my glasses were etched. This stuff is absolutely terrible--stay away. I'd give this zero stars if I could.
