drugstore.com Cotton Swabs, Wood Sticks rates 3 out of 5 stars, from 62 customer reviews. Not a wooden QTip - but close!
by I Can Hear YOU![Verified Reviewer] in Ft Lauderdale on 11/14/09
Pros: Effective
Cons: Difficult to Use
Best Uses: Keep In The Medicine Cabinet
Primary use: Personal
Bottom Line: recommended
The wood is fragile - and they often break. There is NOT ENOUGH COTTON ON THE END. !!!!! Can you hear us - you could even charge more if you put more cotton on the end!
drugstore.com Cotton Swabs, Wood Sticks rates 2 out of 5 stars, from 62 customer reviews. The Last Buggy Whip Should Be The Best
by OldTimer[Verified Buyer] in Jacksonville, FL on 11/9/09
Pros: Easy To Use
Cons: Harsh
Describe Yourself: CPR Trained
Best Uses: Long Term Use
Primary use: Personal
Bottom Line: not recommended
There is not enough cotton wrapped around the stick. It's not a new complaint. What makes it surprising that this problem has not yet been addressed is that those of us who would go out of our way to find and buy the old-fashioned wooden sticks would easily pay a bit more for a higher quality product. I realize that most of the world has gone away from wooden sticks but many of us still prefer them for the control and firmness they permit. That said, the last buggy whip (also the most expensive, of course) is supposed to be the best buggy whip ever. Spend a few extra cents and make these the best (and last) wooden cotton swabs ever. I'd pay more for a better product.
drugstore.com Cotton Swabs, Wood Sticks rates 1 out of 5 stars, from 62 customer reviews.Very disappointing & dangerous!
by Pattypoo[Verified Reviewer] in Banner Elk, NC on 11/5/09
Cons: Ineffective
Primary use: Personal
Bottom Line: not recommended
Like many others, I prefer the wooden stick Q-tip, but can no longer find the name brand. These may be cheaper, but they are a waste because I find I use twice or three times as many, and they break off in my ears making them dangerous! Guess you get what you pay for...
drugstore.com Cotton Swabs, Wood Sticks rates 2 out of 5 stars, from 62 customer reviews.Missing a little something
by Deester[Verified Buyer] in Santa Barbara, CA on 10/18/09
Primary use: Personal
These swabs seem to have less cotton on the tips and a more brittle wood stick than the Q-Tips brand I used to use but cannot now find.
drugstore.com Cotton Swabs, Wood Sticks rates 4 out of 5 stars, from 62 customer reviews. What happened to BOGO?
by dubo[Verified Buyer] in KA on 9/18/09
Pros: Easy To Use

Primary use: Personal
Bottom Line: recommended
Thought I was getting BOGO. Bought 2, got 2. However, all is not lost. We can't get these anywhere else and my husband loves the wood stick type swab.
drugstore.com Cotton Swabs, Wood Sticks rates 1 out of 5 stars, from 62 customer reviews.not enough cotton on swab
by Anita[Verified Buyer] in Manchester, NJ on 8/27/09
Cons: Difficult to Use, Harsh, Ineffective
Describe Yourself: CPR Trained, Parent
Primary use: Personal
Bottom Line: not recommended
The hard wooden stick goes straight into the ear with no flexibility, can go in too deep if not very careful. Also, very little cotton on end -- not effective at all.
drugstore.com Cotton Swabs, Wood Sticks rates 4 out of 5 stars, from 62 customer reviews.Better than regular swabs
by Shopper John[Verified Buyer] in Los Altos, CA on 8/19/09
Pros: Easy To Use, Effective
Describe Yourself: Parent
Best Uses: Daily use, Keep In The Medicine Cabinet
Primary use: Personal
Bottom Line: recommended
I prefer wood stick cotton swabs because they don't bend as much as the white cardboard swabs. I always preferred the official Q-Tip wooden sticks, but since they don't make those anymore, the Drugstore.Com version works very effectively.
drugstore.com Cotton Swabs, Wood Sticks rates 1 out of 5 stars, from 62 customer reviews.Too flimsy!
by allibyrd[Verified Buyer] in Roswell, GA on 8/2/09
Cons: Breaks easily, Harsh, Ineffective
Primary use: Personal
Bottom Line: not recommended
This is an attempt to imitage the Q-Tip brand of wooden-sticked swabs, which were discontinued by that company. A worthy goal, but these imitations have too little cotton on the ends, so it feels like you're poking your ear with a stick when you use them, and the wooden shafts are too thin and weak. They break under the slightest pressure. Would not recommend wasting money on this product until the company gets more quality control involved.

Great for medical swab duty in general but fantstic for hobby use.

I am surprised these do not have a higher rating. Much better than cardboard Q-tips!
