As an almost pure carbohydrate this is an excellent product for consumption during long periods of extended physical activity, such as long distance running.

It is easy to chew and to swallow. Easily digested. Great taste. Comes in packages of approximately 14 beans, so it's easily divisible into whatever caloric combination you need.

The problem with this product is the packaging. The bag is positively unrippable, which makes extracting the beans at the bottom of the bag a hassle. Most of the time the beans just pour out. But sometimes they stick to the bottom. Instead of being able to simply tear open the plastic package (as you would expect), you're forced to extract the last few beans with your fingers or to abandom them.

This packaging problem leads to slight frustration during my practice runs and a few lost seconds during my marathon runs.

Despite the packaging problem, I still have to rate the Sport Beans as a solid 5 stars. Orange and fruit punch are my favorite flavors. I'm a little less enthusiastic about the lime flavor.

I found these because I hate Gu as a fuel replishment on long runs and find I was doing nothing. This is far better. Tastes great and works well. Resealable pouch and small so easy to store in shorts without additional bulk, can easily eat on the run. The cherry with caffeine is great too [...]

These are great for a pick me up while engaged in sports. I won't go skiing or biking without them! The resealable pack is nice to have. Make sure that you drink a bunch when you have them so that you get the best effect.
