Indications
Screens out the sun's burning rays to prevent sunburn, provides protection from UVA rays that may contribute to skin damage and premature aging of the skin. Higher SPF gives more sunburn protection, retains SPF after 80 minutes of activity in the water or sweating.
Warnings
For external use only. When using this product keep out of eyes. Rinse with water to remove. Stop use and ask a doctor if rash or irritation develops and lasts. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.
Sun Alert: Limiting sun exposure, wearing protective clothing, and using sunscreens may reduce the risks of skin aging, skin cancer, and other harmful effects of the sun. May stain some fabrics.
Warnings:
Sun protection measures: Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a Broad Spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. -2 p.m. and wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats and sunglasses. Children under 6 months: Ask a doctor. For use on skin only.

If you're looking for sun protection, you can't get better than Water Babies! It's like wearing a blanket in the sun - you will NOT get burned. I have porcelain skin, I burn very easily. I think I also get sun poisoning (rashy splotchy looking skin when exposed for too long). This weekend I spent four hours at the beach - 10am-2pm - and did not get burned ANYWHERE I applied this stuff. I happened to miss some spots, and boy, is it obvious how great this stuff protects!!I have very sensitive skin, but I've never had a reaction to WaterBabies, and I've been using it for years. It looks like a lot of people have given this product bad reviews because they used it on their face. Personally, unless the packaging says: "For Face," I don't apply it to my face (a good rule of thumb). Ideally, the perfect sunblock could be used all over the body, but if you're willing to use something else on your face, you CANNOT BEAT the protection this product gives the rest of your body. I swear by it. Highly recommend!!

It does block sun, but our little boy's eyes puffed up like red tangerines when the lotion got in his eyes and he cried for 8 hours (remember... kids will rub their eyes). This stuff is vicious and I can't believe it's 'pediatrician recommended'. We even took him to the hospital. Forget the tiny instructions to "rinse with water" if it gets in eyes. It makes it worse. We ended up using gentle eye makeup remover, which helped, and a little eye moisturizer. Someone should call this brand to task for thoughtless marketing and instructions.

35 years ago, after I got facial herpes simplex from the sun, my dermatologist recommended that I use this product on my face because it is effective and does not cause zits. (NOT the Pure and Simple Water Babies--the regular SPF 50). I am 68 years old, and my skin looks decades younger--on my neck and hands as well as my face. People my grandchildren's age compliment my complexion. I do not sweat much, so have had no issues with it running in my eyes. The scent is very mild and does not bother me, either. I am grateful for this product and hope it will never be discontinued.

I apply it to my arms in the summer. This lotion interacts with the leather and metal on my auto inside door panel. Had to replace the panel it caused so much damage. Now I alway wear a light jacket.

I have been using this product for years and LOVE IT!! I am VERY fair and burn very easily, but not when I use Water Babies, even when I am swimming or out in the sun all day! I never get even the slightest bit pink. The product I got from the dermatologist doesn't work as well as Water Babies. I have never had any negative skin reactions to using the product. I would, and do, recommend Water Babies to everyone.

There are a lot of negative comments regarding allergic reactions; keep in mind that people are allergic to a lot of things - peanuts, strawberries etc and we aren't taking those off of the market. My son has extremely sensitive skin (really super bad eczema) and this doesn't bother him at all. I did get this in my daughters eyes once and yes it got a little red (I felt horrible) but it quickly went away and I learned my lesson. I have religiously used this product on both of my kids almost everyday, they have to wear it at daycare, and they have never burned. I wouldn't use anything else. Best sunscreen I have ever purchased.

I slathered this on my arms and broke out in HIVES! I never react to anything. Whatever chemicals are in this, they cannot possibly be safe for children; They're not even safe for adults. The emergency room doctor told me to "discontinue use" of offending product "Water Babies Suncscreen Lotion, Pure and Simple 50 SPF" Thank God I didn't put this on young children! I bought it for myself, thinking it would be safe for pregnant women in their first trimester, since it was marketed towards kids. I'm praying my baby doesn't get enough of the chemicals I absorbed to harm him or her. This Schering-Plough company has no shame! FDA needs to ban this nasty mixture.

I bought this sunscreen for my children but amazingly, it worked well for me too. My sons and I got really burned and black eventhough we were out in the sun only 20 minutes. However, after applied this sunscreen, we didn't get burn and less black. Now our family can go out and have fun in the sun with no worries.
Adults and children 6 months of age and older: apply liberally to all exposed areas before sun or water exposure. Reapply after 80 minutes of swimming, excessive perspiration, vigorous activity or anytime after toweling.
Children under 2 years of age should use sunscreen products with a minimum SPF of 15.
