I was precribed this product when it was a RX only item by my gastro doctor. He told me to cut back the dosage if I experienced diarrhea or too frequent bowel movements. Although it is the least likely laxative to cause laxative dependence you have to cut back the dosage if you experience diarrhea. Find the dosage that's right for you. If you experience diarrhea too often it can destroy the friendly flora in your intestines and that can cause all types of health problems. Since going OTC my health insurance will no longer pay for it and that's a bummer.

I saw Mira-Lax advertised on TV and decided to give it a try. I do like it better than any other product I have tried for constipation. The instructions on the bottle state use for a week only for once a day. Some people do however use it every day. The once a day for a week will work very well. Then next time you have a problem try the week again. It has absolutely no taste at all; you can dissolve it in a glass of water and it is very easy to take. It is also a good buy.

Amazingly effective without cramping. Mixed with water it has no taste. VERY effictive. Can be used daily or when ever you need itMy gastro-enterologist gave it to me to use before a colonoscopy. Musch easier than the old methods.

After trying numerous products for constipation, I tried Miralax after seeing it advertised. It is the best product I have ever used. We travel a lot, and riding for a long time causes constipation. This product has ended my worries. I love it!

I have IC and chronic pain. Because I have to take medications that cause constipation, I need something to counter act that. I've tried everything! Seriously. I kept reading about MiraLax and decided to give it a shot. Why not. I was surprised that it worked in less then 12 hours for me. I used it for 5 days in a row at first and now I use it every other day, it was like clockwork. No nasty side effects like cramps, backache, headache, heartburn, nasty taste, hard to use. It was amazing. I mixed it in my hot cocoa the first time and still do that. You really can't taste it at all. I've mixed it in water, iced-tea, juice, hot tea, whatever. I recommend waiting to add ice to drinks after you mix it in. It will dissolve faster and not settle at the bottom of the glass. The only side effect I have is gas but I have IC so I'm used to it. This is a life saver. I've gone weeks without any relief so I'm a HUGE fan of MiraLax. I just ordered my next bottle today.

I usually take Miralax on a daily basis when I am having constipation from Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It is reliable, but does not create the urgency of other laxatives. I travel a lot and I feel comfortable taking it while I am "on the road".

I have suffered from cronic constipation for my entire life. Two years ago, I finally got a doctor who listened and prescribed MiraLax. I had tried everything: increasing my whole grain fiber intake, increasing my water intake, OTC fiber mixes (citrucel and metamucil) and those items actually made my constipation (and gas!) so much worse. MiraLax is the only thing that has worked. It's not fiber. It works with your body to help your stools retain more water so they are easier to pass. People in these reviews I think expect it to do something other than that. I also read people are putting it in food and the only way MiraLax will work is by placing it in 4-8 oz of liquid. I mix mine in 8 oz of water and drink it every couple of days and I never have an issue with it not working or increasing gas. If you use it correctly, I can't imagine it not working! And btw, it is not a carcinogen. Every piece of research that I have read has been nothing but good.
