I have limited use of my arms and was concerned that it would be too time consuming. Don't have to wait for it to heat up, sounds llike there is little power, but it really does the job. What a great surprise to find that how quickly it dries and smooths hair. I have alot of long hair. Great shine, too. Not just for straightening hair. It's so much better than a curling iron to work with hair. For more lift and body I just pop in a few large rollers and leave in for a while. Hair comes out looking like I just came out of the salon!

Works great on my below-shoulder, fine, wavy-ish hair to dry and straighten without fumbling around with extra brushes. It doesn't take as long as others said, but only because my hair is so thin and fine. Be careful of the end of the handle- it did suck in my hair and pull it out once!

I have a layered chin-length bob, before I would use a blow dryer followed by a flat iron in a few spots. So this seemed like it would save time, but instead it took way more time. The air flow is very weak, and is narrowly focused, therefore it takes forever to dry my short hair. Also, because my hair spent so much time touching the hot straightening plates, it looked kind-of fried. So I went back to my blow dryer and flat iron.

I bought this as a less expensive option to the rotating styler in the infomercial. It reminds me of the old drying brushes, but the finish on the teeth is much better than those were. I usually let my thick wavy frizzy hair air dry, then straighten with a flat iron, but sometimes I don't have several hours to wait to look presentable. This product works well to at least straighten, dry and shine the top layers. My current style leaves the bottom layer curly anyway. Like another reviewed said, I am not coordinated enough to use a brush and blowdryer, so this works well for me. I tend to use it more like a brush, and go straight down as if I'm brushing my hair. Then, I go over the dried part quickly with a flat iron.

This is a lifesaver for wavy out of control hair that likes to do its own thing and for smoothing frizzies. I found using a high quality heat styling spray helps lessen any snag or hair loss due to damage and styles much quicker. ALL heat stylers dry out your hair unless you use quality heat protectors! As far as not grabbing hair enough, use the grip control adjustment button on the tip of the wand. I didn't notice this feaure until after I had it a while. I have used mine for 2 years now and just love it. Durable too as I have dropped it on the floor numerous times and no broken parts yet-- not like other stylers I have used that had buttons break off or burned out quickly. I also like the cool fan setting to finish and set the style in hot humid weather. What other hair iron can do that?? These are hard to find in stores so buy yours here. Blowing power in this styler is not enough for a full head of hair or long hair so hang on to your blow dryer.

This dryer is fantastic! I have thick, wavy ( sometimes curly ) hair and didn't like using a flat iron. It gets my hair too flat and straight, and feels very damaged if I use it often. This tool doesn't get hair stick-straight, but rather soft and loose. I can really make it look very different, depending on if I start from a damp state, or nearly dry hair. I also can get a different effect if I dry only the top layers. I get tons of compliments on my hair since using this. My only complaint is the motor burned out after about a year. I was lost without it and ran right out to get another.
