Works much like the navy and white original Emjoi Caress. I don't see any improvement over the years, but then again I was very happy with the original. After my original stopped working, I bought the small light blue and white one at a local store because I needed a replacement ASAP. (I think it's the travel model) That one took longer to use but it was great on stubborn chin hairs. I am a little disappointed with the one I just bought because it does nothing to remove chin hairs, so it's back to using the tweezers. For legs and underarms, it works GREAT and FAST and that is mainly what I wanted it for.

Yes, epilators hurt. Don't let anyone kid you. That said, this product works much faster than the little 18-tweezer Emjoi unit that I already have. That smaller unit is still nice for touch-ups and tight spots, so I use it as well. As far as ingrown hairs are concerned--regular (read as "daily") exfoliation is a MUST. That is true of any "from the root" hair removal system. Fortunately the Light Caress model comes with a nice little loofah for this purpose. Because hairs grow at shed at different times all over the body, there will be shorter hairs present on the epilated area. Over time, the hairs seem to even out in their growth cycle and this is less noticeable over a few months.

Used after bathing (as was recommended in the user's manual) and found that it worked like a charm! This replaced my Emjoi Gently Gold Caress model that bit the dust.

Although I was absolutely thrilled with the Emjoi Epi Travel (battery operated), I was extremely disappointed with this supposedly top of the line Emjoi Light Caress. The rechargeable, cordless, lighted features are wonderful, but some of the tweezer wheels are out of alignment and either don't catch a hair, or they catch skin. [...] I use this on my legs, which can deal with the pinching, but everywhere else I need to use the cheaper, smaller, wonderful Epi Travel.

I thought this wasn't a bad epilator but noticed that some hairs weren't being picked up with each use. I didn't realize that this product isn't as good as other brands I've tried until I misplaced it and used one of my older epilators instead which got many hairs this one seems to miss.

I've used a couple of epilators in the past. I like this one the best for two reasons: the little vibration pads on the side do decrease the pain of epilation. The light feature is great because you can actually see the hairs and be sure to get them! I need to touch up on a weekly basis to remain mostly hair-free. I definitely would NOT use this as a first line treatment for bikini line! If you are going from shaving to epilating-- this is going to hurt. I think the best way to start using an epilator is after a wax/sugaring session. Use the epilator on a regular basis to keep the hair gone! I find this makes a significant difference in reducing the discomfort associated with epilation. Over time, with regular use, the sensation truly is like the "tingle" in the instructions... but, if I stop epilating for a month or two, it is significantly less comfortable-- requiring a couple glasses of wine to complete the session. I hope this helps someone!
