This product no longer is provided with the large red snap-on cap as shown in the picture; instead it now comes with a tiny cap (you should change the picture to show the new configuration). I shave in the shower and leave the can on a shelf in the shower stall. I quickly learned that this caused rust stains on the tile shelf. The solution was to stand the can upside down on its large red cap because the plastic won't rust. With the new tiny cap this cannot be done. Fortunately I saved one of the old large caps which still fits on the new cans. Please bring back the old large caps.

I use this both room temperature and with a hot lather machine and it works pretty well. To get the hair softened you really need to let it sit for about a minute. It gets the job done, nothing more.
