The sponge goes flat really quick and not much use after that. I read the reviews for these sponges but was still a little hesitant. The price wasnt bad for the qty so I decided to order a pkg and try them out. I love them!!! Since they come flat they're easy to store. Once they're wet they swell to a nice size but still manageable. Not too small, not too big so it doesnt hurt/cramp your hands. Ive used them mostly in my kitchen so far but plan to do all my cleaning with them. They wash well too, Ive tossed them in the washing machine and in the dishwasher they came out well either way. With 10 in a pkg you have plenty to use anywhere...Im going to put a couple in the RV too. This sponge is not as thick and durable as what I've used foe most of my life and have come to know as the traditional "French" pop-up sponge. Time will tell how long it last. Comments about Caldrea Pop Up Sponges, 10 ea: Very cool novelty sponges. When you add water, they really do expand to become a usable sponge. They last a really long time before you have to replace them, and the only down side is that they don't have one side you can use for heavy scrubbing. I stock these and heavy scouring pads at my apartment for dishes. One package lasts a long time and doesn't take up much space. Affordable and great solution to having a sanitary cleaning sponge for dishes and kitchen cleanup. Seemed like I always wanted for a new/sanitary sponge and ended up using a washcloth instead ....I recommend laundering these- gently and reusing perhaps in the bathroom next. Love that they store so easily and in so little space...love that they are natural product. Highly recommend. Comments about Caldrea Pop Up Sponges, 10 ea: In addition to being fun to watch them pop up when you get them wet (I'm easily amused!), these are really nice sponges: they're sturdy and last a long time. And think about it: they don't take up much room when stored, because they're so flat. I use one every day to clean my kitchen: sink, counters, stovetop and all.
