Of course everyone's skin is different, but this product barely made a difference for me. Also, make sure to heed the label's warning--it WILL bleach any fabrics it comes in contact with.

I had been breaking out badly, so I thought I should try a heavy-duty acne gel like this. I used a pea sized amount mixed in with my moisturizer on my face the night after I bought this... and the next morning my eyelids and under-eyes (where I hadn't even put the persa-gel) had puffed up like balloons and the rest of my face was red, itchy, and flaky. It took a week for my poor face to heal. All I can say is that I'll never use this product again, and for others considering it to check first on a small patch of skin to make sure you don't react like I did!

Be sure to follow the product instructions/recommendations when you start using, which is to use small amounts at 1st to allow your skin time to adjust. I used more on my 1st use and my face got really puffy and itchy, but my skin is a bit on the sensitive side. The extreme puffiness only lasted a day or so and really was only noticeable to me, so wasn't like I couldn't go outside, but it still wasn't fun. My skin was also very dry for a few days after, but it eventually went away. I now use the product in very little amounts just for areas where I think trouble lies ahead or as a spot treatment on current acne. For areas where I've put on more, in the morning I sometimes still see a bit of puffiness, but it does help for the acne, so I continue to use. Plus, if little amounts work well, that means the whole tube should last me awhile.

This product severely bleaches cotton towels and sheets. I like using this product, but cannot use it every day. It also dries white so I cannot put it on in the morning and leave it all day.

This is a wonderful product that works! I have had adult cystic acne for awhile now and tried many other products. The most important thing with this product is to be consistent and apply every day. I began by applying once a day at bedtime. I saw results within the first week of application. After a couple months of applying every night (and sometimes a time or two during the day), my acne is gone and my skin looks so much better. When I have the occasional breakout, I then use it on an as needed baisis. Be careful because it does stain pillowcases, hair, etc due to the benzoyl peroxide ingredient. I have very sensitive skin but this product did not cause me any irritation.

I use this on newer pimples and it works fairly well to prevent them from getting much bigger, they usually shrink down within 2-3 days. This is much faster than other treatments that I have tried in the past, and it is much cheaper.

This is by far the best acne spot treatment I've ever used. Everyone is different, so other people may see different results, but this works a lot better than salicylic acid for me. It is a high concentration of benzoyl peroxide, so test a small area first to make sure you're not allergic to it. It is drying, but I have oily skin, so that's a non-issue for me. I can literally see improvements overnight when I use this treatment. I'll always have it on hand as long as they make it!
