I have been using the brewer cleaner for many years and it does work well and is easy to use. One review says it is a great price, I would say it's an average price, sells for the same elsewhere. Just don't inhale when you pour the stuff into the water-it burns your throat, I hold my breath while adding it. And I do flush several times (probably 6) with water to make sure the brewer is cleaned out. It does clean it well.

This is a simple and cost effective system for keeping your automatic coffeemaker clean and fresh. Doing so improves the taste of your coffee. The single-use pouches couldn't be easier to use - simply dissolve in water, pour into machine and run brew cycle. Once you see all the calcium and bitter coffee remains that these cleaning crystals remove, you'll never want to brew a cup again without regularly cleaning your machine with this simple system. Highly recommended.

I use white vinegar and water every 60 uses to clean my coffee pot. I thought I would give this Coffee Maker Cleaner a try but just found myself following it up with vinegar anyway since vinegar is natural. This product contains ingredients I am unfamiliar with so I wanted to make sure it was all flushed out before brewing coffee in the pot again. From now on I will just continue to use white vinegar.
Empty complete contents of one packet into coffee decanter filled with 4-5 cups of warm water. Mix thoroughly to dissolve cleaner. This will make a clear, blue solution.
Pour entire contents of decanter into coffeemaker.
Place brew funnel in position on coffeemaker. Place empty decanter on hot plate. Turn coffeemaker on and let it empty completely into decanter.
Turn unit off. Discard contents of decanter and brew funnel unit thoroughly with water.
Pour decanter filled with clean water into a coffeemaker unit. Turn unit on and let it run through again.
For reservoir units flush 3 times reservoir amount.
If normal flow rate is not achieved, repeat the above procedure.
Be certain unit is rinsed until colorless solution is observed
Coffeemaker has now been cleaned, rinsed with water and is ready for normal operation.
For best results, clean your coffeemaker once a month. Note: This product is not for use in coffee machines that are plumed into or connected directly to a water line.
