Fiber Supplement Information for Cholesterol Lowering and Heart Health: Diets low in saturated fat and cholesterol that includes 7 grams of soluble fiber per day from psyllium husk, as in Metamusil, may reduce the risk of heart disease by lowering cholesterol. One adult dose of Metamusil has 2.4 grams of this soluble fiber. Consult a doctor if you are considering use of this product as part of a cholesterol-lowering program.

Effective in treating occasional constipation and restoring regularity.

Warnings
Choking: taking this product without adequate fluid may cause it to swell and block your throat or esophagus and may cause choking. Do not take this product if you have difficulty in swallowing. the product works and it works well, but i have to give it four stars because it is really sweet and tastes very aspartame-y. it's a catch 22 because while the powder is good for me, i'm also consuming a bunch of aspartame and food colouring ): most importantly, i reiterate that the product WORKS as it says it will. you just have to remember to take it regularly.

It's been a few years since I've used Metamucil powder and they've come a long way since the weak orange-flavored stuff. The Berry Burst is delicious! I also enjoy Metamucil's Apple Crisp biscuits with my coffee but I look forward to a couple glasses of the Berry Burst -- I have a hard time drinking enough water throughout the day so this is a very pleasant way to help fill the daily quota while also getting my fiber. :)

For Cholesterol Lowering and Heart Health: Adults 12 yrs. and older; 1 rounded teaspoon in 8 oz of liquid three times daily. Under 12 yrs-consult a doctor. See mixing instructions in drug facts. Fiber Supplement information: Put one dose into an empty glass. Mix this product (child or adult dose) with at least 8 ounces (a full glass) of water or other fluid.
