This product starts sticky and takes some effort to rub in, but once you do, it has a very nice feel to it, at least for my dry skin. It stays just a tad greasy, but I don't mind because it prevents my skin from feeling dry. I only use it on my face, and it works very well under makeup. I was wondering if the SPF 30 was any different from Vanicream's SPF 60. I've now tried both, and I can't tell any major difference between the two.

I'm a real penny-pincher, and this sunscreen is somewhat pricey. BUT it is well worth it because I can use it on my face without that awful tingly-burning sensation that causes my face to sweat-off other products. Only drawback is that it's not waterproof. However, since most of my year-round sun exposure is not in water, it is the best all-around suncream I've tried.

I have mild rosacea and this is the only sunscreen (I tried many) that works for my skin. I wear it on my face everyday. I also started using it on my infant son and toddler daughter after I discovered that vanicream has fewer toxic ingredients than most baby sunscreens (according to: [@]. So grateful for this product!

My daughter has very sensitive skin and can use this - that trumps the greasiness and white-ish appearance when she wears it. It goes on much more easily than other brands that we have tried. It seems that blockers with physical barriers rather than chemical ones are thicker and take a bit more time to apply. In my book it is well worth the time to protect my child and to have a product that doesn't cause a nasty rash as some national brands have on her.

This is an excellent cream for burn protection on sensitive skin. I can use this on my breakout prone face and back without problems. The only con is that it takes a while to rub in and it leaves you greasy. If you are swimming you will have a film on you after you get out of the water. I use this because it doesn't smell and it is great at preventing burns without the usual sunscreen side affects. All it takes is the time to apply it before you go outside.

The perfect sunscreen, especially for use on children, doesn't exist. That sunscreen, for me, has great UVA and UVB protection, and all of the active ingredients AND the lotion it comes in have been proven to be non-toxic. It would go on easily, be non-greasy and not clog pores. It would be invisible. When that product comes on the market, I'll pay a premium and give it 5 stars. For now, though, Vanicream will have to do. The active ingredients are physical blockers, which provide excellent UVA and UVB coverage. Even though these are micronized (broken down into very tiny particles, so that they are less white-appearing on the skin) and may be absorbed into the bloodstream (!), and so may ultimately be shown to be toxic, to best of anyone's knowledge right NOW, they don't cause any problems. (I hope we don't learn something awful about them 10 years from now! But it's known that most of the other UVA blocking chemicals DO cause harm. So what can you do?) The cream is very thick, and pretty greasy. I find it leaves the skin shiny; you have a whitish, glistening cast to your skin when you put it on. It doesn't cause break outs, though, and it stays on well. My kids don't mind the application of this as much as some other sunscreens, but no matter how much you rub it in (unless you rub it off!), they feel as though it's not rubbed in enough. That said, I haven't found anything better. We alternate sunscreens with good wide brimmed hats and long sleeves, because I'm just not convinced that putting this stuff on kids' skin is better than a little bit of protected exposure to sun. Knowing that letting chemicals sit on skin for a long time is not necessarily all that different from eating it (it does get absorbed over time), I just can't feel comfortable covering my kids in this stuff from head to toe all day.

THis is the only sunscreen I have been able to use on my 3yr. old. Other brands make his ezcema flair up. Our dermatologist recommended this brand.

I have been allergic to sunscreen my entire life and finally found one that doesn't feel like my face is burning when I put it on! I love this sunscreen! My 1 and 3 year olds also didn't have a reaction which they have with every other brand we have tried. I love that it doesn't contain oxybenzone so it is safer than most other sunscreens as well.

it does protect, but even with a light coating you'll look like you rubbed yourself with a stick of butter too greasy, but it was good on sensitive skin, didn't smell horrible, and provided decent protection
