This product is awful! I originally left it on for three minutes, because I had heard some horror stories about Nair. It didn't remove anything. So I put more on again, this time for ten minutes. Again, nothing. Very very rarely, it will remove small patches of hair. Oh, god, and the smell! everyone else has already mentioned how bad it was. To me, it was very metallic...the first time I did it, I showered and scrubbed it off with soap before going to bed...my sheets ended up reeking of it by morning! Not worth it at all.

LEAVE IT ON LONGER!

I'm a dood... I used this 'down there' on my thick, coarse hairs. I've learned that it works much better leaving it on for 25 minutes or so! If you feel it starting to burn, RINSE IT OFF!! That means you left it on too long for that area of your body. I also use Cortizone cream as after shave down there, which keeps me from getting the 'little red bumps'. Today I tried a patch on my head, cuz I like to be bald during the summer and it has worked good, with no irritation. This I left on for only about 8 minutes. I might try it on my face as well. I'd love to save money on those Mach 3 blades!!

I would NOT reccommend this product to anyone of African descent. I have been using it for amonth now and EACH time I use it, it removes less than 60% of my hair if left on for 10 mins- about 85% if left on for 15+ mins which is NOT reccommended. I do not think that the concentrations of the active ingredients-particularly the calcium hydroxide- are high enough to cleave hair of African descent. For those of you wondering why I kept on using it: Just take a look at the price

This is fantastic... due to other issues I can no longer shave my legs. I tried waxing, but ended up bruising and was very painful. I also tried another cream hair removal but had a reaction to it. This worked in the right amount of time and removed all hair to a silky smooth finish.

Yes the smell is not the best, but if you have sensitive skin and cannot use most hair removers, this is the product for you! I have gotten an awful rash from all hair removers, and found that a product called Thioglycolate is to blame and this product does not contain it. So if you have sensitive skin, give this a try.

This product is great at removing hair, but the cost is the awful smell that lingers forever. I used this product this morning on my legs, and even though I've showered twice since then, this horrible smell will not go away! Not worth it.

I think this is a very good product. I am lucky in that my hair is baby fine and light on my legs that I have never had to shave them. When sunlight hits my legs, however, you can see the fine hairs so I had to remove it somehow. I have used other hair removers in the past, but some have caused burning and redness. I tried this one as it is a sensitive formula. I have not had any type of reaction or problem with this particular product. I leave it on for about five minutes. It doesn't burn or sting and my legs felt so smooth after I washed it off. The hair came off easily in the shower... I didn't have to rub it off. When the hair does grow back (and it takes a long time to grow back in), it remains fine and light. I take away one star as the scent isn't my favorite. I think this is a great alternative for those that don't want to shave.

I think it works great! I am 13 years old and I hated shaving! So I tried Nair and my skin is sensitive. It says it works in as little as 3 minutes; but it depends, I had 2 put it on again a couple of times. The only thing that bothers me (and it was my own fault) is I rubbed it dry so I could get all the hair off my underarms and let me tell you it burns if you rub it in. But besides that I think the product works great.

Okay, so I tried this product, hoping it would last longer than shaving. Not only did it last just as long as shaving did (meaning I had to do it at least every other day), it smelled SO bad. I didn't like this at all. I had to throw it away and go back to shaving. I'm going to try Nair Pretty instead.
