To me, this is a perfect trimmer. I has the ER421KC, but when it broke, I decided to go with this version instead. The trim was comfortable, the trimmer was fairly quiet and the price is good. The shape of the trimmer is pretty good. A little bigger than the ER421KC at the base, but overall pretty compact. The 'vacum' feature seemed to work.
I could not feel any suction at the trimmer tip, but it collected clippings in reservoir section of the just below the blades. Once you take the top apart, you'll see that the vacuum effect is generated by displacing air out of the top part through discharge vents on the side. Anyway, it seemed to work. I didn't feel like I needed to blow my nose afterward.
Either way, compared to my Panasonic and my previous much larger Sharper Image trimmer, this one is 100 times better.
