Between Cuticura Soap and Sea Breeze Astringent, I kept blemishes at bay. I know some people do not like the scent but, this is an old fashioned and effective product at a very affordable price. It cleans very well without stripping your skin and I find the slightly medicinal scent very pleasant. I would recommend it for mild acne and normal to oily complexions. I prefer the larger bar of Cuticura (5.25 oz) but, for inexplicable reasons drugstore.com has decided to discontinue it! Try Cuticura Soap and don't be put off by those who claim it smells horrible. It doesn't, it smells clean and slightly medicinal and the scent dissapears in minutes after washing. I believe that we've become so used to highly scented products (so many products smell like fruits, herbs, plants, and flowers these days) that we've lost the ability to appreciate a simple clean scent. I ordered it along with OXY Chill Factor and Zapzyt 10% BP Bar. I have to say, it's the most soothing, and the main ingredient, Triclocarban, is not like benzoyl peroxide, it feels like my skin gets richer and richer every time! BUT- the reason I give this 3 stars is that i didn't really see improvements in my acne, my skin, but not my acne, which it was designed to treat just that. So, I like it . . . but I guess everyone else who has used this is an adult, and I'm a teen using this. Maybe this is just to nourish skin for adults. . .It works on some of my zits, mostly forehead ones, not zits on my cheeks. Tried everything from Acutane to Retin-A and could never control stress-induced inflammatory acne. This product works great as my daily cleanser to thoroughly kill bacteria and clean my skin. It is a bit drying, but I always use a light moisturizer afterwards. Really helps to control breakouts to minor bumps here and there on an occasional basis. Finally something that cleanses well and does kill bacteria so helping to minimize inflamation. I have used it on and off for over 30 years and it has never let me down. It cleans very effectively but does not over dry my combination skin and protects with antibacterial ingredients. I have been using this for about two weeks and am really pleased at how it's dried up my current blemishes and either prevented new ones or minimized new ones to 1/3 the size of what they would have been. I do have a couple small pimples here and there but they seem to only last a day or two when used in conjunction with a salcylic acid product (compared to the usual 2-3 weeks). The bar is kind of hard to lather and does leave a soapy residue. Recommend using AHA toner after to eat up the residue. I have combo skin and found it a bit drying, but adjusting my moisturizer routine helped counter that because I want to keep using it. I use with my Clarisonic Mia and overall would recommend! Dry and scaly look that is how dry it gets yuck!! I have somewhat sensitive skin but can take other products without that drying issue. I wanted to like this product, I did!
