I got this for my husband. He's got a buzz cut and often has dandruff. He uses Grandpa's directly on his scalp and he's had so much less dandruff since starting. He loves the (manly) scent and I like the fact that the soap is environmentally friendly.

I have painful flakey dryness on my shoulders, arms, and hands. Regular deodorant soap makes it worse. Pine tar soap started helping immediately. The white flakey skin is gone and the redness too -- I don't have to use nearly as much moisturizer after showering. The smell is a little odd at first, but you get used to it, and the scent doesn't stay with you after showering. It erases all odor, leaving me smelling clean. It lathers white and doesn't leave a trace in my shower. This is an awesome product.

I bought the soap mainly because of a skin condition (PUPPP) during my pregnancy. It's been recommended by other pregnant women who had used it. The soap smelled strong, but it didn't stick with me afterward. It didn't irritate my skin like the products I normally love to use. It's a very mild soap, but it does cleanse very well. For the purpose I bought it for I think it does a good job. Obviously after my skin condition is gone I wouldn't use it, just because I personally still prefer other products.

This stuff is AWFUL! Seriously, it stunk like skunk from the first moment out of the box. I LOVE the smell of pine...and there's a hint of it here, along with tar, ROAD TAR. It stunk so bad, my wife moved it from one bathroom to another without telling me. I walked by, and swore I smelled burnt rubber, looked for an electrical fire, and there was that pine tar soap. Yeah, skip this folks, or buy it, whatever. Don't say you weren't warned.

Ok, this soap smells really bad. That being said, it is the greatest soap ever! I have had those bumps on the upper arm that nothing seems to get rid of since I was about 13. This soap has almost completely gotten rid of them in one week!!! I have also used it for shaving, and my legs have never been so soft. The smell really doesn't stay on your skin, and you do adjust to it. It is well worth it! This will continue to be part of my routine.

Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap is the only soap that use anymore. I'll admit the first few times I used it, the smell was a little unusual, but after you get used to the fragrance, I enjoy it now. It does not linger after the shower...just leaves a fresh scent. This past winter was my first winter to use it the entire season, and I had no dry itching skin...ever. I'm a firm believer in this stuff now!!

I have always been pleased with Grandpa's products. The people who make them don't add unnecessary ingredients -- you only get the pure stuff. The pine tar soap is excellent in the shower after a hot summer day. It makes you feel extremely clean and refreshed. I use it in my hair, too. Great soap!

Awful, not just the smell ...

Awful, not just the smell which I was expecting, but it leaves brown water everywhere and has only irritated my skin. Does not work in hair as it leaves a thick waxy film. Bad smell and bad results makes this soap a waste of money. Other soaps by the same company don't seem to cause the same irriation.

This smelled so horrible, like burnt plastic, that I couldn't even use it after the first time. I got such a horribe headache and the brown film and water wasn't appealing, either. This would most likely be a good soap if one can stand the smell, but I can't.
