I am a curling iron junkie. I have about 15 curling irons..Most sit in a basket, unused. this one is the one I use daily and always come back to. I hope they aren't phasing it out. Conair now sells a 1/2 inch size ceramic curling iron and this one (silver) is hard to find. BTW, the ceramic one does not curl..just smooths out have and gives it a wave. This one curls, gets super hot and is the perfect size for me. I love it. I really need to stock up.

Since this was small i thought it would be easy to use and give my fine wavy-curly hair some cute ringlets. I was way wrong. It burns my fingers each time, is hard to use cuz the way it is made hair gets all tangled up in it. As far as curl no matter how long i hold a small portion of my hair in it..it makes the top straight and only gives the very tips a little wave giving me a very dorky, geeky look that has never been in style.

Now will own three of these. Am ensuring I have them for yrs to come in case Conair discontinues. For fine, limp hair this product is a dream. It never burns since it has a heat control and shuts off if I forget. 1/2 inch is the correct size for long, fine hair.

This is the item you have advertised on your site: Conair 1/2" Instant Heat Curling Iron, Model CD80JCS, this model is the exact model that I am looking for and that I thought I was receiving. The items that I received are a new version (Model CD81SCS) of this item. Big deal because the newer version is Crome, which dries out the hair and the older version is metal, which is much smoother and maintains the hairs shine.

Cheap won't get you too far when it comes to curling irons. This one is good for occasional use but regular curling just gets your hair damaged :( The barrel is not good material and the quality is just down the drain. I had to push my budget higher to get a Karmin G3 clipless curling iron but I'm so glad I did! Faster, smoother and shinier curls that didn't fall out within the hour like they did with this conair

I am on my second conair 1/2" barrel curling iron. The same thing (touchy on/off button) happens with this one as the first one. Both malfunctioned within a year and a half. It only goes on when it feels like it. I called Conair, and for $5 and I pay for the shipping, they will send me another one. I can purchase another one cheaper than that (which I won't). Has anyone else had this problem?

I have very fine short hair. Even with a permanent I use the Conair 1/2 inch curling iron. It heats up fast to any number of temperatures and turns off automatically if I forget to unplug it. It does not stick to my hair. It is absolutely the best curling iron I have ever owned. I buy two at a time so I always have a back up.
