I really like the fact that it only takes a minute or two to heat in the microwave.
The strap is very convenient. It holds the pad in place so I can move about.

The heat lasts a good amount of time & relieves the tight knot & ache in my lower back.
It's not a cure, but helps ease the debilitating pain.

We heated the Bed Buddy for the allowed time, remembering that other reviewers had said that the cover melted if you heated it too long. The wrap did not get warm so we heated it again as suggested in the instructions. Still not warm enough to work. After another short heat it still wasn't warm enough to help. We returned both items that we bought and had to take credit for the one we tried out. The unopened one was refunded. Since we had one for years that worked great this was a big disappointment.

I ordered this product for my mother for use on her back. She loved it because she could strap it on and it would stay in place. However, after about the first 2 weeks, it literally started coming apart. It first started coming apart in the seams - she sewed it back and kept using it. This happened all over the Bed Buddy. Then one day we noticed a horrible smell while it was heating in the microwave, and a hole had appeared just right in the middle - not in a seam - and was producing the bad smell. Since then, there have been other holes appearing in the middle of the cover, while it is heating. I'm ordering a new Bed Buddy to see if it will be better. If I had to base an opinion on this ONE, though, I would not recommend a Bed Buddy. Hopefully, the next one will be better.

I have back problems and I originally bought this for my back and it's really helpful for that. But now I have shoulder problems and I've found the back pad to be the best for my shoulder. I know they make a smaller one for arms but I find this shape really good for my shoulder and neck, as well.
I bought one for my mother-in-law who has bad arthritis in her shoulders and she loves it.
You stick it into the microwave for 2 minutes and it comes out hot and MOIST. Somehow, it picks up moisture from the air, which is really amazing.
My only negative comment is: Forget about using this as a COLD pack. It ays on the instructions that you can use it for cold or hot. I put it in the freezer overnight and it was cold but not icy cold like you need from a cold pack. It's an EXCELLENT HOT PAD. It's no good as a cold pack. Besides, I prefer to keep my cold packs in the freezer all the time, so that when I need them, they're already icy cold. If I'm using this as a heating pad, I'm not keeping it in the freezer, that would be dumb. So buy something else for an ice pack and use this for heat.
