Indications

I have never written a review about anything, but because this product works so well, I just had to share my experience. I would not write something if I didn't 100% believe what I am saying. I have been suffering from Eczema for 3 yrs now. My first breakout was 3 yrs ago and I was devasted. I first broke out end of June, 2006, all over my neck, head, arms, legs and torso. I had no idea what it was. Doctor didn't know what it was except that I was having an allergic reaction to something. I was sent to an Allergist and went through the scratch test (horrible testing - not fun at all). I was prescribed many steriod, cortizone creams, prednizone (which worked to eleviate itching, but could only take for a couple of days and the itching came back). Nothing worked and I was absolutely miserable. As this episode was happening during summer months when I usually wear short sleeves, I was so embarrased by the unsightly ugliness of the rash, that I wore long sleeves - which only made the itching worse because I was sweating so much. But I was too embarrassed to leave my arms bear for people to see the Eczema. Try being in Las Vegas in August with temps of 112 wearing long sleeves, absolutely unbearable. Needless to say, I spent most of that vacation inside with the air conditioning!!! My breakout finally went away after 4 months and didn't return until a month ago. Again was prescribed the creams, prednizone and antihistamine blockers and again, none of it worked. I wasn't sleeping at night because I iched so bad, but the breakout was also very painfull. Out of desperation I went online to find something, anything to stop the swelling, itching and pain. I came across Dermarest and read many great reviews so I decided to try it - what could I loose!!That very day - "It WORKED". The awful itching subsided, finally!!!Understand - this is not a cure - but it really does work. I put it on in the morning right after getting out of shower. Again during day if iching occurs and then at bedtime. I also use an Organic Shea Butter Soap. After 3 days of use - I have noticed a significant amount of healing. Although the reddness is still there, the itching is minimal compaired to what it was and the dryness and bumpy feeling of my skin is almost gone. I can't believe how fast this is working and that I suffered so much prior to finding this product.Buy it - it works!! I'll never be without it again. It's well worth the [$]per bottle!!

Did not help at all. Made eczema itchier

I have had eczema for 30+ years. Over the years, I've been to several dermatologists who prescribed expensive compounds that didn't help very much. When I have an outbreak I have bright red, visible blistering and almost unbearable itching. The outbreak can occur almost anywhere.

This latest outbreak was on both my hands and legs. I was so desperate for some relief that I ordered 3 products that claimed to help ease my symptoms.

One of those products was Dermarest Eczema Medicated Lotion. Dermarest DID NOT HELP in ANY WAY. It made the itching worse and was a huge greasy mess.

The one thing I haven't seen anyone mention is that it is really greasy. I suggest that you cover the area you apply this lotion to, because otherwise you will get it on your furniture and anything else the applied area comes in contact with.

In case any of you are thinking, oh this person said that they ordered a few products. It probably didn't work because they used all the lotions at the same time. Nope. I used Dermarest Eczema Medicated Lotion first, for about 3 days, ALL by itself, until I could not stand how much worse it made me feel.

I rarely write any reviews of products, but because of the expense of this particular item, and the fact that it DID NOT HELP in ANY WAY, and actually made my condition worse, I felt that I needed to voice my opinion. By the way, Dermarest DOES NOT guarantee its products, and will not refund your money to you. So, buyer beware and make sure that this is the correct product for you before you buy this (in my opinion) rather expensive lotion. Additionally, if you call this company, don't expect the person you talk to at Dermarest to be friendly or helpful or concerned in any way.

The other two products I tried were:
Triple Past Premium Triple Cream. This product did not work at all for me either, but the manufacturer is refunding my money. (This cream made me feel worse also.) Yes, I used it ALL by itself.

The 3rd product I ordered was AVEENO ECZEMA THERAPY MOISTURIZING CREAM. THIS ONE WORKED FOR ME. Yes, I'm using all caps for this one because it gave me enough RELIEF to make its purchase worthwhile. I will be buying a few tubes more so that I can keep using it through this outbreak, and can have some in reserve for the next outbreak. By the way, AVEEENO is NOT at all greasy like the other two products I mention in this review.

Dermarest Eczema Medicated Lotion worked for me cleared up in 7 -10 days.
The Eczema was on both of my hands very itchy, inflamed, dry and lol very, very itchy.
At first when first applying product it did itch but I kept persisting until no more itch!
It does work just give it time and patients, keep the routine you will see results.
Thanks Dermarest my hands are back the way they suppose to look clean and clear :).

I have had eczema for over 20 years and have not found a lotion that works as well as this! It burns when put on bad spots but it heals them so quickly! It's great for daily use to prevent those flare-ups as well.

Apply every night before bed; put a towel over your pillow to avoid any staining. It will sting at first depending on the severity. Try to get into the habit of using it every night. This is the most effective stuff I have ever come across and was recommended to me by a hair stylist. Also available in a gel formula.

I have eczema flare ups from time to time. Bought this becuase of the high ratings, and what can I say, it has worked consistently to get my eczema back to normal. I actually recommended it back to my dermatologist.

Very happy with this product for eczema, highly recommend it.
