change not as good

I have never written a review about anything, but because this product works so well, I just had to share my experience. I would not write something if I didn't 100% believe what I am saying. I have been suffering from Eczema for 3 yrs now. My first breakout was 3 yrs ago and I was devasted. I first broke out end of June, 2006, all over my neck, head, arms, legs and torso. I had no idea what it was. Doctor didn't know what it was except that I was having an allergic reaction to something. I was sent to an Allergist and went through the scratch test (horrible testing - not fun at all). I was prescribed many steriod, cortizone creams, prednizone (which worked to eleviate itching, but could only take for a couple of days and the itching came back). Nothing worked and I was absolutely miserable. As this episode was happening during summer months when I usually wear short sleeves, I was so embarrased by the unsightly ugliness of the rash, that I wore long sleeves - which only made the itching worse because I was sweating so much. But I was too embarrassed to leave my arms bear for people to see the Eczema. Try being in Las Vegas in August with temps of 112 wearing long sleeves, absolutely unbearable. Needless to say, I spent most of that vacation inside with the air conditioning!!! My breakout finally went away after 4 months and didn't return until a month ago. Again was prescribed the creams, prednizone and antihistamine blockers and again, none of it worked. I wasn't sleeping at night because I iched so bad, but the breakout was also very painfull. Out of desperation I went online to find something, anything to stop the swelling, itching and pain. I came across Dermarest and read many great reviews so I decided to try it - what could I loose!!That very day - "It WORKED". The awful itching subsided, finally!!!Understand - this is not a cure - but it really does work. I put it on in the morning right after getting out of shower. Again during day if iching occurs and then at bedtime. I also use an Organic Shea Butter Soap. After 3 days of use - I have noticed a significant amount of healing. Although the reddness is still there, the itching is minimal compaired to what it was and the dryness and bumpy feeling of my skin is almost gone. I can't believe how fast this is working and that I suffered so much prior to finding this product.Buy it - it works!! I'll never be without it again. It's well worth the [$]per bottle!!

I've always had dry skin, but I just recently broke out with eczema last year. I didn't have any health insurance and was unemployed, so going to the derm was out of the question for me. In desperation I googled and came across this product. It got such great reviews and when I saw it at CVS, I quickly purchased it. Within a week, everything has cleared up. (it was on the inside of my arms and elbows) The redness, scaliness, dryness, and itching is gone. You should try this, it will work. I slather it on every chance I get!

My toddler had eczema behind his knees and inner elbows when he was a baby. We followed the doctor's directions of bathing him with plain Dove soap and following up with a moisturizing lotion, but it didn't help much. It hurt me to see my son crying in pain and irritation when he scratches. The area behind his knees had a rough and raw texture like an old, dried up carrot. We tried different products. Then my mom stumbled upon Dermarest Eczema Medicated Lotion at Long's Drugs. We saw results within the first week. I was amazed. The area behind his knees were smoothing out. We went through 2 bottles. He is going to be 3 soon and is completely healed. My boyfriend wasn't born with eczema, but suddenly had it. I ordered a bottle from drugstore.com (it took almost a month to receive it for some reason) since I couldn't find it locally. Unlike my son, he had patches of dry skin all over his body. I saw a difference within a week. He was able to find this product at another drugstore. He took the last 2 bottles and wiped out the same drugstore, but in a different location. He gave 1 to his cousin who's also suffering from eczema and told my boyfriend to tell me thank you and that it's working. My boyfriend also gave a bottle to his friend's cousin's girlfriend and I'm pretty sure we're going to hear good news from her, too!

My husband has tried almost every over-the-counter cream & lotion on the market for his eczema & anti-itching and Dermarest is the best! Our local store quit selling it, so now we buy in bulk online - we won't use another eczema lotion. We tried Aveno cream, Gold Bond, etc, with no anti-itch or healing results. He applies it once a day to heal and keep the itchies away. It is a little messy (could be thicker or an ointment) and would be nice if it was cheaper. Only thing better he's ever gotten than Dermarest is a steroid ointment the dermatologist prescribed, but that is not cheap and not really advisable for long term use.

I was really hoping this would work wonders for my seasonal eczema. It provided no more relief than the basic and inexpensive hydrocortisone plus aloe creams.

I originally bought this for my boyfriend but I tried it and loved it so it stays in my drawer now. I use it on my face for extreme dryness/flakiness and it does not cause breakouts on my sensitive skin. I used to have redness on my chin that never went away no matter what I tried and after using this for a month or so it pretty much went away. I don't put it all over my face because it's quite thick and heavy but just use on the spots that need extra moisturizing. I have another moisturizer for the rest of my face.

My brother gets Eczema and after reading the reviews decided to get this product for him....it works fast and alleviates the itch associated with Eczema. After a few days his Eczema started to fade and eventually heal completely. He now keeps this in his medicine chest and uses it when he starts to break out.

This lotion has been a wonderful product for relieving and healing psoriasis.
