After I destroyed by skin with all the harsh acne products I wanted something gentle and calming. I picked up cetaphil and after a week of using it day and night I was amazed. My skin has cleared up and I no longer have dry patches or an oily Tzone. I believe most people develop bad acne after using so much stuff on their skin. Good thing it regenerates.
It has been a month and my skin tone looks natural and not damaged.I still have the occasional small pimple but nothing noticable or cystic. So if your face is screaming for rescue try cetaphil GENTLE skin cleanser. The other cetaphil is a bit strong for dry or sensative skin but I use it when my skin gets hormonal and oily. Either way this is a great product and drinking enough water helps too.

I had been using Purity Made Simple by Philosophy, and liked it, but wanted something more reasonably priced. I needed a cleanser that would be gentle, remove makeup and not dry out my skin. I use Differin prescription product on my skin, and since Cetaphil is made by the same manufacturer, and I had heard good things about how gentle it is, I thought I'd give it a try. I was deeply disappointed.
Cetaphil dried out my skin horribly, leaving it absolutely parched and dreadfully tight after rinsing it off. It stung my skin when I washed with it, smelled unpleasant and caused my skin to flake and peel the following day. The worst part was the hyper-oiliness that resulted from using it. My skin reacted to being dried out so badly by the Cetaphil by cranking oil production into high gear. By mid-afternoon I had a disgusting, nasty, visible oil slick alll over my face, and I have never had that problem before. The increased oil production caused acne, which had completely disappeared since I'd been using Differin. I couldn't use moisturizer because even though I desperately needed it after the Cetaphil dried out my skin, it added to the puddle of oil on my face that appeared in the afternoon.
I have stopped using Cetaphil, and have gone back to Purity Made Simple by Philosophy. I'll never sacrifice quality for price again.
I can't say anything good about this product. It was disasterous for my skin, and I'm really surprised by this. I do not recommend it to anyone.
Comments about Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, 16 fl oz:
My dermatologist gave me a few samples of this cleanser and I loved it. Went onsite and order a full size bottle and it was like having a bottle of lightly scented water? No foam, so I ended up adding some other body wash to it so I could feel clean. I had to look again to make sure I hadn't ordered the lotion by mistake, but no it was the cleanser. Highly disappointed. It was like someone had watered it down?
Comments about Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, 16 fl oz:
I use this product as my only and only soap. Showering, washing hands, everything. I have serious eczema, and this cream works wonders in moisturizing my skin again. I don't know what I would do without this cleanser.
Comments about Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, 16 fl oz:
This is the best facial cleaner I have found in years. I was using a name brand expensive cleanser and they changed the gentle cleansing to foaming. I hated it because if you get it in your eyes they really burn. This product is great and cleans well
Comments about Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, 16 fl oz:
I use this twice a day (once in the morning to wash my face while showering, and once at night to remove my makeup). It's gentle yet effective formula feels good on the skin. Keeps my skin soft and in good shape (no dryness or breakouts).
Without Water: Apply a liberal amount to the skin and rub gently. The unique, low lathering formula allows gentle, yet thorough cleansing. Remove excess with a soft cloth, leaving a thin film of CETAPHIL on the skin.
With Water: Apply to the skin and rub gently. Rinse.
– Keeping your skin clean is one of the fundamental steps toward maintaining a clear complexion and a soft, smooth feel to face and body alike. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is a very popular option for those with the sort of sensitive skin that can react adversely to harsh cleansers--or anyone who values dependable skincare products made from high-quality ingredients.
Great for Everyday Use
The Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is designed for use on all skin types--from normal and well-balanced to dry and easily aggravated. Non-comedogenic and fragrance-free, the cleanser is mild but effective. It cleanses away grime and other impurities and moisturizes your skin while preserving its naturally protective and healthful oils. The cleanser washes away cleanly without leaving behind pore-clogging residue. The end result is exceptionally smooth, remarkably soft-to-the-touch skin.
Mild enough to be used each and every day as part of your normal skincare routine, Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser works well not only on the face but also the hands and the rest of the body.
An Influential Brand
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and the other offerings from the Cetaphil brand spring from one of the world's leading skincare companies, Galderma, which was founded in 1981 in a partnership between Nestlé and L'Oréal. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, Galderma distributes skin care products across 70 countries while collaborating with such institutions as the American Academy of Dermatology, the Dermatology Foundation, and the American Skin Association in its efforts to promote dermatological research. The company runs five research and development centers around the world: in the U.S., Japan, France, Sweden, and Switzerland. The French lab, according to Galderma, is the world's biggest dermatology research center.
Along with the general cleansers and moisturizers available in the Cetaphil brand, Galderma also addresses symptoms of specific conditions such as acne and rosacea with a variety of formulations.
