I have oily, acne prone skin and for a while was using topical acne medication that made my skin dry and flaky. This product works very well at keeping skin moisturized while removing dirt and makeup. However I could only use this product on "good skin" days as I needed something more effective to dry up the acne. I wouldn't recommend it during a stubborn breakout unless you have sensitive skin. Otherwise this is a great cleanser for sensitive skin.

i dont know what the fuss is about this cleanser because it does absolutely nothing. i bought it based on all the fab reviews and it's actually one of the worse cleanser i have used. i admit it is very cheap and comes in generous bottle but it does not take off makeup and did not really lather or foam when i used it. i used it maybe three times then threw it out. totally inferior product.

Cetaphil is a detergent in a rich water-emollient base. It is not soap (as most cleansers are not) and it does not contain lipids (fats, such as tallow). Sensitive skins should avoid any fragrance. As a mild facial and body cleanser it is fairly difficult to surpass this product in quality. The emollients are highly effective, the detergent has been used for decades, and the absence of soap and fats makes it nearly ideal for every one's use. Exception: Those with very problematic or acneic skin, as the mild surficant action offset by the emollients will likely be too gentle to suspend the dirt, sebum, and debris that collects in acneic skin. Environmental: Packaging, of course, is the drawback. Alternatives: Unilver's "Lever 2000" detergent bar is the ideal, general all-purpose skin cleanser, and comes fragrance-free and minimally packaged.

I hesitated to try this at first but decided to go ahead and see whether I liked it. I love this cleanser! It removes makeup so easily and doesn't leave your face feeling oily or greasy like other cleasers. It also doesn't dry out your skin. I would recommend it to everyone.

Until I used this cleanser, my skin had dry, flaky patches that would not go away, even with popular "infomercial" products. Cetaphil softens and smooths your skin as you wash it, and when your towel dry your face it isn't dry or ashy. I had never even heard of it before my dermatologist gave me a sample. It's a beautiful product.

I've been using this Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser for quite a while now and it is great for my combination skin. I use it every morning and night followed with Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion. My dry spots on my cheeks have become much better and have cleared up quite a bit. I am so glad I got this cleanser, but if you like that really squeaky clean feeling afterwards, you won't like this cleanser. I've gotten used to it and I think it's still great even if it doesn't give me a really refreshing squeaky clean feeling.

I've been using cetaphil cleanser, for over 15 years...cetaphil is the best I have ever used...and trust me I've used some very expensice ones...but I figured why spend 50 bucks for something that, I can get for 10 bucks and do a better job...works fantastic, to remove makeup...I fully recommend this cleanser.
