I love this! My face is clean, but not dry or tight. Unlike the experiences of other users, Cetaphil removed my makeup wonderfully well. It even removed my *very* stubborn mascara (I've tried dozens of eye makeup removers, and none has worked well). I'm finished using Chanel and Yves St. Laurent cleansers when this one is just perfect for me, and much less expensive!

I have been using this product since summer of 2006. My dermatologist recommended me using the bar or the liquid when I went to see her about my adult acne problem. I love the light scent and how it doesn't bother my skin, even though I've been diagnosed with having sensitive skin and sebhorreic dermatitis. I used Dove sensitive bar soap when I ran out of the Cetaphil, and low and behold, my face that has been making progress with no acne, started flaring up again. The only thing that's difficult for me about Cetaphil is deciding whether to use the oily-skin version or not for my shiny T-zone. I'm afraid that it will overdry the areas of my face that is usually dry, like between the creases of my nose. Also, using a disposable 100% cotton pad each time I cleanse helps.

I have oily skin, and it does not make my face feel clean when I use it. I also wear foundation, and this product is not for cleansing a face that wears cosmetics. I give it 2 stars, because I know that people who do not have oily skin, and people who wear no makeup can benefit from this product.

I really did not feel this cleanser actually cleaned my skin.

After reading these reviews I decided to try this product. It actually gives a soft feeling to your skin. I also bought some for the kids to wash their face with it's a great way to get them in the habit of washing their face with something other than just water. I can rub it over their eyes and it doesn't bother them at all. Not too bad at removing makeup; but I suggest using the Neutrogena Make-up Remover Cleansing Towelettes at night (especially if your a morning shower person) to clean your face in the evening.

I am thoroughly disillusioned with high-end cleansers that promise miracles (smooth, moisturized skin) on the one hand, while adding fragrances and chemicals that dry and irritate skin. That said, I have been extremely pleased with Cetaphil, which neither strips my skin's natural oils, nor disturbs my skin's pH balance the way other self-termed "gentle" cleansers have. As a result, I have been able to quit toner. But I have a "use" tip. This cleanser does not lather. Not to worry - it's not supposed to (the benefit of soap lather is to remove germs, such as when washing hands, and strips your skin of much more than unwanted germs). Apply cleanser to a dry face. Dampen hands, and work the cleanser in to your skin by gently rubbing in circles. Give extra attention to areas that tend to be more oily (e.g., nose). Finally, Cetaphil's "non-comedogenic" claim has held true for me, a person not unaccostumed to break-outs.

This is a great product for my dry, sensitive, prone to breakout skin. It doesn't get all my makeup off, so I use a toner afterward, or use it after a makeup remover. It doesn't strip the skin, but leaves it soft.

I did not feel that this cleanser actually cleaned my skin. Felt like it was watered down lotion.

I find Cetaphil helps to moisurize my body skin, which helps to control eczema flare-ups. Personally, I would think it is too gentle to battle makeup removal.

If I could give this product zero stars, I would. It doesn't lather, leaving skin feeling like the equivalent of washing my face with body lotion.
